Re: Recorder mysteriously turning off.

I'm using a Sony ICD-UX533.

The thing is, it works like its meant to on numerous occasions. I could understand looking at reformatting a card or something if it was a repeatable problem.

Recorder mysteriously turning off.

Twice now I've attached my recorder to the house mic and sent it off to be used fully satisfied. When I retrieve it, it is turned off. I check the files and it only recorded for a few minutes.

The...

Re: Anyone doing a "no disks" delivery yet?

Hi Chris,

Basically nearly all said they would consider choosing USB over DVD, one said definitely USB, one said definitely DVD.

So to me, I suspect they like the idea but have question marks...

Re: Anyone doing a "no disks" delivery yet?

Thanks very much Danny and Roger. Very helpful info!

Did a recent survey with current bookings.

Showed USB examples and explained benefits and drawbacks. I gave the following options:

a) I'd...

Re: Anyone doing a "no disks" delivery yet?

Quick question folks - My product is 3/4minutes highlights, 20minutes feature, and uncut speeches (maybe 1 hour at most). So what capacity USB would I need realistically with descent HD quality? 4GB?...

Re: How to get song license?

SongFreedom have some popular songs. Thats about your only hope. Trying to get the industry/labels to even respond to you about your little fun project will prove near impossible, nevermind the fee...

Re: Anyone doing a "no disks" delivery yet?

There's a lot of talk about grandparents and USB. Truthfully, in my country, I'd suggest that 70% of grandparents don't have DVD players either.

Are 70/80 year old more high-tech in the rest of...

Re: Anyone doing a "no disks" delivery yet?

Here's a question - Is there no way these days to create some sort of autoplay interface that would act like a menu would on a DVD.

I remember at uni, doing my media course we did something like...

MediaZilla anyone?

Daniel Latimer brought this to my attention in another thread. Really interesting.

But surely Iy can't be the only deliverable. The B&G will still want the files in some sort of physical format...

Re: Anyone doing a "no disks" delivery yet?

No way I would offer both USB and DVD. It would be one or the other. Last thing I want to do is render every file in two formats and resolutions!

I want to go down the USB route, but I'm still...

Re: Anyone doing a "no disks" delivery yet?

I've prepared a survey to go out to my 2015 clients. One of the questions is 'Would you choose a USB option if it were available?'.

Will let you know the feedback!

Re: Anyone using 3axis brushless gimbal rigs for weddings?

For me, its a case of, once you have one of these setup, then thats it.

The motors mean it isn't so temperamental in terms of going off balance.

My steadicam, no matter how tight all the knobs...

3-Axis Gimbal Stabilisers List

I just compiled this and thought I'd post in case it was useful to those doing searches. Any others I've left out?

Freefly Movi M5 $3995
Letus Helix $3975
DJI Ronin $2999
The Ghost V2 $2995...

Re: Anyone using 3axis brushless gimbal rigs for weddings?

Just reviving this thread since it's taken my interest again.

CAME have now released the 7500 which is basically just the 7000 except pre-assembled rather than what was basically a DIY kit.

Re: Solo shooters and steadicams

Hi Peter,

For me it only gets roled out at times which suit.

Typically these are bride car arrival and aisle, then b&g aisle exit and post ceremony mingling.

I then will try and see if it...

Re: It's been a while, so here's one for some crit.

Just realised the 24mm pancake lens is for crop sensor. Which I could switch to on the A7S, but of course 24mm is not a wide anymore in that case!

Re: It's been a while, so here's one for some crit.

No Petere, this was shot pre-a7s on the Canon 6D. The lens used for steadicam work with both cameras is the Canon L 17-40mm. I'd be tempted to have a look at the new Canon 24mm 2.8 pancake for...

Re: It's been a while, so here's one for some crit.

Thanks so much for the positivity guys! Yea Andrew I'm a solo shooter - it has it's difficulties, but I survive with a few static cams for safety shots.

A few of you mentioned the Camper Van...

Re: Deciding on Merlin 2 for 5D Mk3 ?

Not a chance. I can’t believe that price for that! Its nowhere near as stable as regular steady cams that cost £400-800. The CAME 7500 is about the same price and it’s an actual motorised gimbal!

Re: Deciding on Merlin 2 for 5D Mk3 ?

I spent ages yesterday looking at gimbals like the DJI Ronin. It's even harder to justify the Ronin at $3000 when you are using a small A7S rather than an epic.

There are cheap ones for GoPros - I...

Re: Recorder interfering with wireless?

I accept that electronic interference is possible - but when people were using the mic, there were NO issues. It was only on the music. The mic wouldn't even be involved in that though - not unless...

Recorder interfering with wireless?

Pretty peeved. The manager lady at yesterdays wedding was reluctant to allow me to tape my recorder to the mic. She said someone had not it the week before and that it had make her voice 'squeeky' -...
