Re: Highest quality files for iMovie ingest

Well that is strange isn't it.
Any Windows PC with Quicktime can decode ProRes,
Any Mac needs a Pro Codec pack to even preview it.

Re: Highest quality files for iMovie ingest

Thanks Nigel,
I did think of that, but opted against it for simplicity on her side.
I just gave her 720p AIC files, and in another folder 1080p Prores422.
I figured if she did nothing extra, she...

Re: Cineform from Interlaced AVCHD?

Thanks Robert.
That is one very vague conversation though.
David doesn't seem to know if AME upgrades the color space to 422 or not.
Unrelated, out of interest I did my own test from Sony Vegas...

Re: DVD burning/duplication???

Thanks for the input guys.
I'll do some more research here locally, at first glance there doesn't seem to be as many options here (east coast of Australia) as you maybe have available in the states....

DVD burning/duplication???

Hi people,
I'm now in the position where a couple of times a year I have to churn out a fair few DVDs in a short period of time. The past few weeks doing the ... one in- burn- one out, then repeat a...

Re: Cineform from Interlaced AVCHD?

Is this documented anywhere Robert? If true, would that be the same with Sony Vegas, doing Cineform resizes?

Re: Cineform from Interlaced AVCHD?

Thanks Robert,
The work flow you use is not a problem for me either.
The trouble I'm having is using HD Link to do the resize from HD to SD, it is turning the footage progressive at that point.
I...

Re: Cineform from Interlaced AVCHD?

OK then.
Can someone just confirm that they have no trouble with interlaced resizing in HD LInk?
At least then I will know it is my workflow rather than a limitation of the software.
If it does...

Cineform from Interlaced AVCHD?

Hey people,
Can someone tell me where I am going wrong here.
I normally capture all 1080p progressive footage, convert to Cineform, edit, render out a Cineform master, then down size with HD Link...

Re: up rezing?

Heaps of ways to do it with varying results.
Fwiw, I find that b4 you do anything to the footage, you want to start with the best you can possibly have.
So before keying I would drop your sd...

Multi cam settings for different frame rates?

I'll try to explain,
I have 4 cams in a nested sequence and am now editing that sequence in the multicam monitor.
2 of the cams are 50fps and 2 are 25.
After cutting it up, there are parts of the...

Re: Using Dual Monitors with Vegas?

Unrelated to Vegas, but the first thing I would try would be switching the video card outlets around.
My Hackintosh wont boot with my 1080p monitor in position 1, it wants to see the 2560 monitor...

Re: V12.0 Good, but still not stable

I've got a strange one,
Every time I render a wav or an mxf the file extension comes out as a .wdp.
I can change it and the file is fine, but annoying and strange nonetheless.
And 12 has been a...
