Re: Usefulness of Video Effect Plug-ins (Bundles)

LOL!!
There is no such thing as an easy to install plugin bundle!!

Re: Wide angle without to much distortion

Andy, I've used that lens and like it for photos but for video the lack of constant aperture and the slower speed is why I didn't list it here. As long as the OP knows it cannot zoom while shooting...

Re: Wide angle without to much distortion

Sure if you have a serious budget!
Canon 24mm 1.4 $1600
Zeiss 25 f2.0 $1700

There's a Sigma 20mm f1.8 thats cheaper but I know nothing of its quality.

I would recommend shooting at higher...

Re: Blacks are VERY black with the EOS 5D Mk2 - (or is it me)?

Mixing DSLR footage with a camcorder like the ex1r will make the camcorder look dull and the DSLR oversaturated without some processing which is best done with custom picture profiles.
On my 7D and...

Re: Red Giant Looks - Most used presets?

I have the whole suite and it's sweeet! Except denoiser which has a bug that crashes the host app but they know about it and are working on a solution.

As to presets in looks, I generally reverse...

Re: Renting my equipment?

I'm fairly gear heavy and have been approached many times about renting it out. Difference for me is I make a living shooting and editing. If I rent out a critical piece of gear then need to go on a...

Re: Does Canon ever talk to their customers?

After watching a few of the vids done on the C300 it's obvious that they have a really good camera to compete in a certain niche. No complaints...it's Canons flagship.

The rub is those of us who...

Re: Smallest Heli/Plane I can mount GoPro

So after seeing my 450 fly the replay, my buddy shows up at my studio with a 400-size heli looking like Ralphie after ripping the wrapping paper off his Red Ryder!

I had to explain to him in very...

Re: Next step after 5D MkII?

I feel your pain! I was also disappointed with the Nov 3 announcements. Has me looking more seriously at the fs100 but I'm heavy on Canon glass too which I do use for stills. The 1Dx looks...

Re: first time w/7d footage-i'm a little lost!

Easiest would to duplicate the current sequence and clear it out. Then you know it's the right settings. But Shaun has a point, shouldn't be editing in DSLR native files. Need to transcode to pro...

Re: Scarlet At $10K

Baffled at today's news. Canon...$20k?? Out of their damn minds!

Red...$14k package without a lens, and a just a single 64gb ssd?
To shoot in the real world it's gonna be $20k but at least it'll...

Re: Export from XF util 1.1

For the record, FCP 7 sees and imports single clips just fine. I've even imported a 90 min clip spanned across 2 cards as a single file.

I've opened, poked around in and then chose not to use the...

Re: Shotgun mic for 305

I use a hot shoe mounted clamp so it is a non-issue. it's got a much better suspension (thus vibration protection) than the Canon mount.

Re: Taken the Plunge

Regarding FCP, you don't have to convert the files but I do since i deal with other cameras like the dslrs and POV cams. Just easier making all the files pro res. I am still using fcp7 since its not...
