Eyeglass monitors have been attempted with Steadicam for many years, through various iterations. The older ones blocked too much of one's regular vision to be useful; these late model ones have more...

I don't have the PC link for it; I will admit to being a dyed-in-the-wool Mac guy and I don't have need for the PC platform for other reasons so I have avoided going there. I don't end up using the...

James:

I've tested panbars here and there, they are a cool concept. I'm perfectly happy sticking to the wheels whenever possible, the problem with the Jimmy Jib wheels last I tried them (which was...

2-3 seconds drop time is considered "standard" but I know operators that like to work at 1 second, and others who operate virtually neutral (infinite drop time). Nothing wrong with starting out with...

I should say that I am in awe of really good Jimmy Jib operators when I work with them (maybe one in four would qualify for that). There's an awful lot going on with a one-man band jib, and to...

At a live event like a concert it's usually pretty easy to spot which platform is shooting which type of shot, of course. In a feature or episodic television, it can be nearly impossible to identify....

Armin:

I see that you have a very short cable between battery and monitor, but you still could rotate the battery 90 degrees, which would probably eliminate the need for the two weight disks...

They could be. The Flyer gimbal is pretty damn good so I wouldn't expect that to be the cause of your errant panning. Theoretically you should be able to walk 360 degrees around the rig without it...
