I saw this last week and spoke to my local machine shop just 3 blocks away. They can make me a plate identical with the same tapped holes and threads for about $35. Anodising or even nickel chroming...

The reason I posted earlier on log and transfer speed being fast was compared to my older Mac Pro. This was an Octo-Processor, gobs of ram and a 6Tb raid .... BUT....

I am now using a new Macbook...

The Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 with A-mount is pretty good for the price and works well with exposure Iris control.

I may get another Sigma based on this lens alone - good bang for the buck.

I think you will find the 85mm the best choice for interviews.

I am testing the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 with Alpha mount. so far looks fine. Iris works fine. I am told the stabilization works as well.

Doug I just heard that Sony raised the price of the F3 body to $14,000 - a price hike of $1,000.

That could be a deciding factor as well...

The label on my Samyang says Made in Poland but could well be Korean origin.

I posted them here because with these are made for manual use and with all the dumb adapters these fit the bill for...

Well not really a secret but this brand is not well known in the states - but boy are they a bargain!!

They are Rokinon brand in the USA but known as Samyang in Europe. Made in Poland.

Yes - I transfer into ProRes 422.

its very fast - processes in real time. No problems with the workflow at all - on a new Macbook pro with a G-drive.

This may sound crazy but I am sure you would find it tough to see the difference with a Sigma lens, say

But I decide to only use lenses that can take my variable ND filter - did you check the filter...

Dan I am told that this Sigma lens is no longer made and has been discontinued.

I agree the Sigma lenses are a good alternative for the FS-100. I am looking at two fo their zooms right now...

What is your editing program on your Mac?

If you have FInal Cut then all you need is to use Log and Transfer.

I have no need for anything else with the FS-100.
