Yup - I wouldn't consider buying it w/o those upgrades, at least of two which have been significant.
Maybe it's because JVC has traditionally not worried so much about the indie market but rather...

OK, pulled the trigger and bought the profile ($15 over at Andrew's site).
Haven't done a lot of testing with it, but my initial reaction is that if you want your "look" to be generated in-camera...

Anyone use the EOS Pro Color profile?
Looking at Andrew's Pro Color profile, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it....
Certainly seems to look better then the stock profile.

Does the LS300 have a dedicated stills feature?
I've been using the humble Sony VG20 for most of my shooting for 3 years now. It's been a remarkably tough little camera that punches way above its weight.
But obviously, a camera like the LS300...
