Re: Canon Telephoto Prime Lenses, no IS!
I agree that the extra stop of light is important in low light. I have found that the IS is nice to have as well from some experience with the 24-105 I have. Nothing worse then something nudging your...

Re: Canon Telephoto Prime Lenses, no IS!
I thought IS was almost a must on the telephoto end of things? What are you using the 2.8 non IS for? I've always been curious how much shake the IS lenses take out.

Canon Telephoto Prime Lenses, no IS!
We have been looking at purchasing a EF Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS and have been looking at other options as well. One question i have is why hasn't canon added IS to any of their telephoto prime lenses...

Best setup for frame rates
I started out shooting weddings in 30p and have since moved to 24p for the last year. I like the look of the 24p but any slow motions or pan/tilts/glidecam seems to struggle slightly and doesn't look...

Re: 70D vs 6D
Hey Brock,
I own both the 70D and the 6D, both are really great cameras! The 6D handles the low light a bit better then the 70D, but depending on what lenses you are using this may not be an...

Re: Time to upgrade or wait?
We have tried going up to 12db and its just not acceptable in my eyes, 6db is as high as we ever go. We quite often have to do some trial and error fiddling with the Custom Pictures settings to get...

Re: Time to upgrade or wait?
I do believe there is a lot of value in having a dedicated camcorder that we can depend on to get the shot, leaving us with the dslr's for B shots. Good point about the NAB 2014, i forgot that was...

Re: Building up camera gear
I've found a used 70-200 f/2.8 version I that I would like to buy. The first release seems to be just as good as the second and half the price, has IS as well so it's there if I need it. Still...

Re: Building up camera gear
I have learned quite a bit when it comes to matching our 6d with the xf, unless the light is too low of course. Here is a video we made recently, maybe makes it a little easier to gauge the caliber...

Re: Building up camera gear
I am leaning towards the dslr side which is one reason I was considering the c100, it's like a dslr mixed with a camcorder which is perfect. Unfortunately the price tag isn't. I find that unless you...

Re: Building up camera gear
I forgot to mention that we always have 2 shooters. The reason we keep the xf manned is to monitor audio levels. The autofocus on the xf100 is little iffy in low light, it can start hunting at times....
