Re: 5D3 w/ Pix240 or C100 w/Pix240?
The 5D3 doesn't have clean 1080 output at the moment, so you'll have to wait for the promised firmware update to arrive for that.
As a 5D3 / C300 owner (and someone who's played with a Pix...

Re: C100 - Zoom Lens Advice
It seems a lot of us end up with both!
In my case I began with the 17-55 (paired with a 70-200)... and later bought a 24-105 as an all purpose lens when I didn't want to switch.
But I'm...

Re: Battery Size - C100
I second that. 3 BP-955s for me, no regrets. They last for hours - I'd choose the same configuration again if I were starting over.

Re: Bag for C300
Hope it works for you Andy. You'll have a wee bit more room with the C100 too, should be an even better fit than the C300.
Good luck getting the job!

Re: Bag for C300
Hi Andy,
Here's a pic of the PC002 with C300 on target shooter base plate with rods, 3 batteries, 70-200 f4 and 17-55, plus the cards & filters in the side pockets.
In this configuration I have...

Re: Bag for C300
I'm using a newer Petrol bag, the PC002. It's the smallest bag you could get away with. I fit a C300 + the following accessories snuggly in the bag:
70-200 f4
17-55 f2.8
Zacuto target shooter...

Re: C300 upgrade worth it?
Like Syeed, I initially held on to my XF300 alongside the C300, fearing I would miss the former for run & gun work; however, I now use the latter for both as I actually find the C300 easier to shoot...

Re: New Firmware - Is it coming? If so, when?
Quite an exhaustive list was made way back when:
http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/new-canon-cinema-eos-c300-c300-pl-cameras/506848-meeting-canon-engineers.html
Since then, the C100 has arrived, so we...

Re: C300 Audio Settings
Hi Paul,
I always use the limiter with my C300 and find it works well, though I haven't done any kind of testing on it (I assume it's the same as the one on the XF300 which I've used for a couple...

Re: C300 switching from 25P to 50i by itself?
Yes, this did happen to me a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't notice anything awry until I got back to the studio and saw the clip was interlaced. I NEVER shoot interlaced and couldn't figure out...

Re: Excellent BMC - Canon Mk III comparison
Totally concur in the case of the Mark III. With previous Canon DSLRs, zero sharpening was the way to go. But the Mark III benefits greatly from a notch or two sharpness in camera if, as in this...

Re: Canon EOS C100
Perhaps, but they are trying to shift their own products after all.
Yes, please do elaborate. The C100 manual shows exactly the same curves / DR range at each ISO setting as the C300 manual.

Re: Canon EOS C100
Beyond the codec, one other thing to keep in mind is that the C100 has a smaller, coarser EVF, and it can't be repositioned ergonomically like the C300's. That could be quite a drawback, as the C300...

Re: New Eos C100 Camera with Auto Iris
Paul, that's a very useful comparison, thanks.
I don't make use of the HD-SDI/genlock/timecode ports on my C300 so I wouldn't miss them at all. Obviously in broadcast/multi-cam environments this...

Re: How do I fix a corrupt C300 clip?
While clearly not ideal, if all else fails and you simply need to salvage the shot, try playing it at 1080 in VLC, meanwhile using screen capture software (I use "iShowU" but there are many...

Re: New! Blackmagic 2.5K Raw cinema camera!
To restate, the m43 lenses are also much smaller and optimised for smaller sensors (which is the whole point of m43). Producing a standard lens for m43 doesn't pose the same difficulties as the wide...

Re: New! Blackmagic 2.5K Raw cinema camera!
Agreed, m43 would have been great at least as an option - much more suited to the form factor and sensor size (and Panny/Oly are putting out some lovely, tiny, and relatively inexpensive m43 primes)....
