I made a short comparison between C100 M1 and C100 M2.
There are three parts - short movie (95pct M2 and 5pct M1), comparison from movie and comparison from other places.

Canon C100 M2 test...

Re: Canon Announces 2nd Generation EOS C100 Mark II

Yes, it is 4K camera without 4K output, a little crazy thing for me. C500 is 4K/2K 10bit/12bit camera, I think that the C100 will remain at 8bit, but as a customer I will need at least one 4K output...

Re: Canon Announces 2nd Generation EOS C100 Mark II

Thus, the C100 Mark II DIGIC DV4 processor internally interpolate the 4K (QHD) resolution as three RGB signals, each has 8MPx (this means RGB444) fot "the best image quality" (at HD right now .-) )....

Re: Canon Announces 2nd Generation EOS C100 Mark II

I don't understand this:

The Canon DIGIC DV4 image processor separates the RGB output from the camera’s 8.3 Megapixel CMOS imager into THREE individual 8 megapixel signals (as opposed to 2MB in...

Re: Canon Announces 2nd Generation EOS C100 Mark II

I can't agree with you, it is not about "semantics", it is directly about technology.

C100 use 4K sensor, it is the same sensor as C500 camera use. If you want 4K from C500 than you need...

Re: Canon Announces 2nd Generation EOS C100 Mark II

Interesting, I think that two green samples (2x1920x1080) and one red and blue (2x1920x1080) samples mean no debayering, but Canon company seems to make something new .-) .

Re: Canon Announces 2nd Generation EOS C100 Mark II

I have no problem with picture quality of my C100 except WDR and LOG gammas at 8bit, there was "mapping" at smooth gradients occasionally (it is problem for me, but cine1 gamma solve this).

Re: Sony PMW400 shoulder mounted XDCam

Interesting... I know the noise level of the PMW350 (CMOS) and PDW700 (CCD) and I personaly prefer the PDW700 quality. But I'm not an operator of these cameras so I don't know which setup was used. I...

Re: C100 and Ninja2 in camera noise reduction test (cine1, wdr, canon-log gamma, 25p,

I also don't know if the Atomos Blade is worth the investment, but you can look at reviews (if the weight, balance and the quality are ok with C100 for your type of work). I already have the...

Re: Sony launches PXW-Z100 4K Handheld XDCAM

I saw this camera yesterday along with NX3.

Z100 has really good LCD, with magnification I can focus in 4K (camera was output to 4K monitor for control). The lens of Z100 is visibly better...

Re: Export workflow Canon C300

If you use some noise reduction at post, delete this. If you can, use an uncompressed version for any renders during postproduction (effects, color correction). If you can, try slow rendering to H264...

Re: C100 and Ninja2 in camera noise reduction test (cine1, wdr, canon-log gamma, 25p,

Yes. As I wrote above the ABB was made for all different ISO parts.

The best part is at 19:00 where AVCHD looks really nice and Ninja2 is also ok with the better chroma subsampling. 25i version...

Re: Is Horizontal Noise On The LCD Normal?

Solid grafic menu subjects (with unnatural edges and repeatting parts) are not a good sample for the quality test of LCD screen. Try shot some test patterns with camera and look for problems.

Re: Cam-xiety

The new PMW200 has been repaired, the lens is ok now (there was info from the customers). PMW150 has a good price and 3x 1/3 chips (PMW200 has 3x 1/2), but I don't know news about the lens quality.

Re: Sony FDR-AX100

You are right that 4K has more color samples than HD, so 4K has the better start position for colors interpolation from 420 than HD. But 422 (or 444) color subsampling is not important for your eyes,...

Re: Sony FDR-AX100

Yes, new lens, but for 4K it is not easy to make on wide angle "sharp cornes". I tried the small JVC 4K camera last year and the lens was the most interesting part - slow and not wide.

I was also...
