Re: Metabones Canon Iris Fs-700

I've had no problem using any of my Canon lenses with the Metabones adapter.

This includes my: 50mm 1.2L, 16-35mm 2.8L, 24-70mm 2.8L, and 70-200mm 2.8L (version 1).

Autofocus doesn't work, but...

Are you tired of seeing slow-mo footage yet?

Well, too bad! Here's some more.

But seriously, shooting at 240fps is totally addictive. I headed upstate the day after I picked up my camera and couldn't stop shooting slow-motion. Firework,...

Re: Just got my FS700!

I've been using the Metabones adapter with my Canon L Series lenses and it seems to work well so far. I am able to control the aperture via the camera without any issue. The only thing that doesn't...

The flicker thing.

I picked up my fs700 last week, the day before I went upstate for vacation. I had a great time "playing" with it. Shooting with the high frame rate is seriously addictive though. I really didn't...

Re: 240fps no picture over SDI

Let me know how it works out. I'm looking at that monitor. Are you happy with it otherwise?

Re: 240fps no picture over SDI

I overheard someone talking about this at Abel today. Same problem, which I believe they had figured out. I wish I had been paying better attention, but I'm pretty sure it involved changing the...

Re: What kind of load can the lens mount handle?

Thanks Bruce. Guess I better apply for another credit card so I can buy some support since I maxed out my other one out paying for the camera.

What kind of load can the lens mount handle?

I'm actually about to pick up a fs700, but decided to ask here because this forum has more activity than the 700 forum, and it seems doubtful there would be any difference.

But, I was wondering...

Re: back vertical "banding"

by the way, my title should read "black horizontal "banding"", not "back vertical banding".

no more pre-coffee postings.

Re: back vertical "banding"

I definitely shot at 1/60th, 24fps. and there were no fluorescent lights in the venue, at least not overhead. maybe some spillage from the bar, but I doubt even that. it was a very dark room lit...

black horizontal "banding"

I recently shoot some footage for a wedding, using a 1.2 50mm lens at 1600 iso.

Can anyone tell me what is causing the weird think black vertical "banding" (I think this would be the appropriate...

Re: fs100 vs. EX1r

Thanks Ed, and just FYI, I found this adapter which supposedly gives you some sort of aperture control with the Canon lenses. And the price isn't bad either. I don't have a lot of info on it, but...

Re: fs100 vs. EX1r

Thanks Gabe. Your stuff looks great. That was all shot with the 'kit' lens, right?

A couple questions:

When you are talking about the speed of the focus, are you referring to auto focus, or...

Re: Does this look particularly "noisy" to you?

I will have to stop asking questions and just do some tests myself, but are you saying that 2500 is cleaner than 250?
Seems hard to believe.

Re: Does this look particularly "noisy" to you?

Interesting. I had never heard this regarding specific ISOs being more or less noisy than others,
I had always just assumed the lower the ISO, the less noise.

Thanks guys.

Re: Does this look particularly "noisy" to you?

Thanks.

I have looked at other "low light" clips online, where parts are definitely underexposed, and I just don't see the same level of noise.

Does this look particularly "noisy" to you?

I shot this test.
ISO 250 at f4.5.

I know that the 5D footage is heavily compressed, but this just looks "noisier" and more pixelated than it should to me, and more so than other footage I've...
