Re: WANTED: Most "film look" bang for the buck?
Currently "banging out" a feature, in the sense that we have way too few hours and days in the schedule to make it at the speed of "artistry". But still, it looks good. It just means that we cut...

Re: Glidecam/Steadycam Question
Theoretically it could be possible to get away without side to side balance if everything is truly square on the rig. In reality, EVERY rig has a certain amount of play and "gremlins" that will...

Re: Glidecam/Steadycam Question
I have yet to see any stabilizer, big or small, of any brand, that didn't require minute adjustment in either lateral axis throughout the course of the day. As I recall, the handheld Glidecams...

Re: Want to emulate Jimmy Fallon VideoVision
Josh's suggestions are all great--there's a particular funk to multiple generation VHS that you can't simulate without multiple duping to VHS.
To REALLY nail it, you could pick up an old video...

I'd like to add my two cents on this discussion. I have mentioned this in other threads but I think it is relevant to this one.
Striving for highest image quality within one's budget is of course...

Re: Varying light levels
Thankfully our schedule is such on Key and Peele that by the time the episodes go to color correction we are months out of shooting. Thus I am able to attend the color correction, which is important...

Re: Varying light levels
Ha, well sure, I'd call my 1st AC a close buddy, why not!
I'm fortunate to have two great focus pullers on the show (we have A and B cameras fulltme) and this was a particularly tough one for Doug...

Re: Portlandia sketch
Hi Tom:
Good content (which is always first and foremost)!
Yes, it's probably not ideal that you have mixed color temps going on there but it's not a dealbreaker by any means. The...

Re: Fill panel outdoors
Wouldn't have been 9x9... Standard rag sizes are 6,8,10,12 and then up to 20x.
While the larger a bounce, (generally) the more natural the effect, the rigging skill and size of the grip crew...
