Re: 3-Axis Gimbals?
I just listed my Ronin in the classified section. If I had enough work to justify keeping it I would. Excellent build and software works perfectly. Used a few times with my C100 and Ninja....

Re: Advice on shooting from a helicopter
Might be the encode…the pro res looks flawless! 1/48 shutter 24p

Re: Advice on shooting from a helicopter
Well, since my first suggesting the Kenlabs gyro, I've had the chance to use one. Works great if you have a pilot who gives you enough time for the gyro panning to take place. Doesn't happen all the...

Re: XF305 still $6K
The XF300/305 are still very relevant, very good cameras. Canon has a history of moving slowly with new versions but when they do, I've noticed they are ahead of everyone else which keeps the resale...

Re: 3 Axis Gimbal Stailizers
Anxiously awaiting the Ronin. Will be adapting it to my vest/arm. And will be adding a joystick for panning. One man operation!

Re: C100 for run-and-gun live music...VS. XF300?
Agree with Gary. I've owned an XF300 and now C100 and have a lot of experience with the XF100 as well.
You will be better served by sticking with the lightweight XF100. The 300 gets you more throw...

Re: Field monitor for C100
Any monitor you get will need to be calibrated if you are concerned about colors. And it needs to be calibrated in the environment you will be using it in. Personally, I'm more concerned with framing...

Re: Field monitor for C100

Re: Shotgun mic
As the others have mentioned, consider flipping your primary/backup setup with adding a shotgun. I use a Rode NTG-3 which actually prompted me to upgrade the mics on my Sennheiser wireless. It...

Re: C100 opinions
I came from an XF300 and they are two completely different tools. The AF on the 300 works much better and I used to rely on the face detect. The AF on the C100 has uses and works very well once you...

Re: GH4 4K for still frame captures
One of the exceptions to the action stills from video that interests me particularly is my aviation work. Low shutter speed does wonders for heli's and blurring backgrounds assuming your panning...
