thanks, yeah i was reading a bit more just now and the EV RE50 seems like a very popular model too, any opinions on it vs. the Sennheiser MD42?

Yeah for a third of the price i'm willing to take a slightly lower build quality, they still look pretty solid from the videos at least.

thanks a lot, me and my usual crew take good care of our equipment, we don't usually bang them up too much.

Btw do you find they get hotter to handle than the Arris or do they overall perform...

i currently use this model a lot, very heavy duty overall, i'm quite happy with it. Yeah it's kinda heavy when traveling but does the job correctly every time. You can get it for about $99 on Amazon....
