Re: Review of C100 - after having it a while
C100 has the three advantages for me:
- small size with a very good ergonomic (you can use this cam for handheld shooting without rig)
- you get a very good images without aliasing and moire on...

Sony is a big chief .-) , but their cameras specifications are much worse than the picture result from those cameras. I had a personal FS100 experience, where chip was about 14mil pixels, but Sony...

Thanks Ron, recording is clear.
It is interesting for me that 4K consumers camera has twice bigger chip than 4K professional camera with twice price. Pixel count is the same (20mil vs 19mil) so...

Chips size is in the specification, all pixel count on the same place - look for Imaging Sensor.
(Don't change "all pixel count" and "one pixel physical size", it is not the same because its depend...

Re: Sony FDR-AX100
Michael Warren - for me is more important the physical size of one pixel. The consumer AX100 has much bigger chip with the same count of pixel as professional AX1 (with price 4500 USD), 20mil vs....

Re: Sony FDR-AX100
It is really interesting - consumer AX100 has 1" chip with 13.2mm x 8.8mm (20mil pixels, 14mil ef.) and FDR-AX1 has only 1/2" chip (19mil pixels, 8.3mil ef.).
AX100 has XAVC recording with 50Mbps...

My note is only about quite usual terms of quality of the camcorder and about style of discussion. There are some pros and cons and both are relevant. If...

Re: Sony FDR-AX100
Yes, if you mean BW screen. But if you speak about colored pictures then you need (in 422 chroma subsampling usual at professional level of work) about 4mil pixels on the chip for HD and 2x8,8mil...

Re: First Time of using my C100 today
I shot at 50i and WDR gamma is OK to ISO 1280, but I prefer exteriors shots with ISO320 for WDR.
Cine1 gamma (with normal4 color matrix + color saturation finetuning) and normal4 gamma are both OK...

Re: C100: Wide DR: Always amazed at it's ability
WDR has a lot of noise at 50i and 4000iso, look at crop pictures from wdr vs. cine1 testing (tiff + jpeg versions). I used wdr only to iso1250 (or 2000).
Sharpening of wdr gamma is from the CP?

Re: C100: Wide DR: Always amazed at it's ability
Yes, iso850 is for the best dynamic range only with Canon log gamma.
If you use this iso for wdr gamma when shot scene with good light, you only made noise more visible (you set gain from -6dB to...

Look for color shift, it is very easy to see some color differences (orange-red, brown-yellow/green) on drapes in the background of scene. Sharpness or dynamic range is not the problem in this case...

The ISO+ and ISO- custom buttons for changing ISO when you shoot without a hand-grip.
The exposure and CP save in the clip metadata (C100 can save these parameters only for stills).

Re: C100 removal of PSF interlacing in post
C100 camera has an another issue - red colors looks like an interlaced thing. I see the same issue on the G10's clips so it is really some Canon AVCHD issue.
