UHD Video from Sony FDR-AX100

Here is a video I made using the AX100 for the first time. It was losslessly edited, and you can download the UHD video I uploaded to Vimeo and see the full resolution:

Re: Sony FDR-AX100

"But with Vegas Pro 12 (not 11) and VMS 13 you will also find the first XAVC/XAVC-S encoder that allow the rendering of 4K to XAVC/-S."

Yes, and the clip I made and uploaded to Vimeo *encoded* the...

Re: Sony FDR-AX100

1. Sony Vegas Pro 12 edits XAVC S clips. I have done this.

2. Here is a downloadable XAVC S file I made (from a pro 4K *original* shot by someone else) using Vegas Pro (to be just like the one...

Re: BMPCC and Sony EX3

Yes, there is an aperture display.

The 12-35mm lens is a real gem, in sharpness, quietness, and OIS. It is the only lens I took on an extended travel, and I did not miss having more choices -...

Re: BMPCC and Sony EX3

Those are my calculations too. My time-lapse should look like 10X speed in movement. The 25X for 1 second depends on the frame rate you choose (so 30X for me!).

I used the Lumix 12-35mm f2.8. It...

Re: BMPCC and Sony EX3

No, 2-10 frames refers to how often a single frame is shot. So 2 frames means every other frame is shot. Here is a time-lapse created using the 10-frame "interval" shooting RAW.

Re: lumix 12-35mm OIS on Pocket

Here is a brief, but conclusive, test of the OIS on the 12-35mm f2.8 on the BMPCC:

Blackmagic Camera v1.5.1 has just been released.

This is just a quick update to address an issue with the weird motion blur observed when shooting at 180º shutter angle in 23.98 and 24 fps on the Pocket Cinema Camera.

Shooting RAW with the BMPCC: It's all in the editing

If one is shooting RAW what you see it is all in the "color correcting" or "grading". You can do just about anything to the flat picture you get from the camera, which is the point of RAW. So what...

Re: Shooting RAW with the BMPCC

Sure.

I import each folder with the uncompressed tiffs, converted in Lightroom from the RAWdng's, as a string of photos, which Vegas recognizes as a set of frames for a video clip (because I tell...

Re: Shooting RAW with the BMPCC: WB

I also want to answer the question on white balance, since I now have some experience in color correcting. These questions are very relevant.

The trick is to set the wb with a scene that does...

Re: Shooting RAW with the BMPCC

The internal mics were used. I am not recommending this for the most serious audio, but for run and gun it seems as good as the Canon EOS M, for example, and much better than the AGC audio of most...

Re: Shooting RAW with the BMPCC

When I use AF what I mean is I use it and check it - sometimes I have to "push" to get it to focus right (in that sense it is no camcorder), but I think I can tell when it does (the proof being when...

Re: Raw has arrived for Pocket Cam

I agree that most of the posted BMPC videos from Pro Res have been downright embarrassing. But I don't agree that now with RAW getting the color out is harder. In fact, I think the problem is in the...
