Though this topic has dozens of threads discussing this, I'll chime in and add the 7D is the only one that outputs 1080 during record but there are still menu items and a bit of cropping that occur...

yeah...I've been pretty vocal about the DSLRs being a great tool for specialty shots or b-roll only. I will never be without a true camcorder.
I don't need to duplicate what my 7D does DOF-wise...
