Re: Fostex Support in UK?

Yes, but you already knew that it was SCV who service Fostex gear in the UK.

Re: Fostex Support in UK?

Thanks. I will try to call SVC on Monday.
They are closed on Saturdays.
I think it is not very good practice that a reputable company like Fostex don't have a clear route to getting after sales...

Fostex Support in UK?

My Fostex FR2LE has developed a fault.

Does anyone know how to get support from Fostex please?

The links on their website to support in Europe are broken.

My email to SVC (their agent) in UK...

Re: levels looked OK but recording sounded distorted

Hi Tom
If I have understood the foregoing correctly the most likely theory is that the levels were clipped at the trim control level within the menu. Which I had not checked because I was unaware...

Re: levels looked OK but recording sounded distorted

Re: levels looked OK but recording sounded distorted

Thank you Warren and Rick
The F3 does have trim controls within the menu. I just checked the manual. I enclose the relevant parts below in case anyone reading this finds it useful.

Re: levels looked OK but recording sounded distorted

Thanks Steve

I wasn't recording hot at all, I would say. The levels looked very conservative on the OSD. And I used the same levels for the Sanken, which sounded great.

So it appears that the...

Re: levels looked OK but recording sounded distorted

Thank you Steve and Andrew

The xlr cable came out of the camera into an xlr socket on the waistband of the subject. It is then plugged into a DPA xlr downconverter and becomes a thin wire that...

levels looked OK but recording sounded distorted

If anyone has an idea of what was going on in the sample below I would be grateful to hear your views.

The mic used is a DPA 4061 lavaliere feeding directly into the camera via an xlr cable.

I...

Re: Weird Bug trying to start MC5

Hi Mike

I've no idea what is wrong.

All I can say is that I've never had a problem accessing the Avid forums.

You should probably try again. This could be too specialised for DV Info.
