0.5x Wide angle converter, not as wide as advertised...help!

i used my 28mm lense, and took a picture at 28mm "without" the wide angle converter....when the wide angle converter is on, i took another picture at 34mm, and its the same...

therefore the 0.5x...

EDIT: i run a recording studio and i am a sound engineer...the zooms ability with a very expensive mic like audio...

whats the best monitor to get thats also priced well? if i have monitor with max resolution at 800x600 or 1024x768 wouldnt that be bad because of the canon 7d being 1920x1080?

the 7d has great manual forcus, but its capabilities are mostly in the lense...a great lense with great AF and fast aperature, will give you great abilities....

the t2i is nowhere near as good as...

i usually shoot 24p shutter 50....during sunlight iso100, in shade i go to 320, and sometimes 640....when its really low light i like 1000...

this is what the 7d is doing to alot of camcorders.....its shelving them LOL unless you spend over 5k on a camcorder, the 7d will be better in most ways...
