Re: Questions for the wedding editors

Like I mentioned, it was our first video and expect the edit times to come down as we develop our flow and system. We learned a lot of things that took a lot of time to figure out - things like what...

Re: Pro 10.0e is here

Magnus, I normally would, but Magic Bullet Looks only seems to support the 32-bit Vegas. I've rendered previous versions of this edit with no issues, but the latest one with the color correction has...

Re: Questions for the wedding editors

I guess the problem is no one I'm encountering seems to think paying more than $1-1.5k is worth it for their wedding video. We've invested around $10k in equipment and other costs (insurance,...

Re: Questions for the wedding editors

It was our first video. We only charged them a few hundred bucks, which actually didn't even fully cover our operating expenses. We still have a long form edit to do for them as well. So you're...

Re: Pro 10.0e is here

It's about as specific as I can remember. Something to do with "low memory resources" as I stated.

I used various plugins - Sony color curves, Magic Bullet Looks, Sony Color Corrector,...

Re: Questions for the wedding editors

Wow you guys edit fast... I just spent 30-40 hours editing a 3-minute highlight video, including the basic color correction I could do. Asking a motion graphics editor to help out with the text/names...

Re: Pro 10.0e is here

Just curious what exactly shift B and RAM preview is?

Because I'm using 10d (not 10e yet), but my project keeps failing to render around 15% or so mark. It states "low memory resources" or...

Video of Problem with Magic Bullet Looks Plugin

I was working in Sony Vegas Pro 10.0d and using Magic Bullet Looks 1.4.2 fine for awhile, then one day, it just suddenly stopped working. It crashed like shown in this video:

YouTube -...

Re: Wedding nightmare...hope this never happens to anyone here

I disagree.

Reason is simple: Most business in the beginning will have very little, if any, operating costs covered by clients. This is called initial capital investment (on top of your time...

Re: Wedding nightmare...hope this never happens to anyone here

Okay, here are my thoughts. I hope I can present them logically and clearly.

As a business, of course the goal is to be profitable. On a side note, I too hope no one is naive enough to actually...

Re: Wedding nightmare...hope this never happens to anyone here

Chris, everyone knows insurance is a part of the cost of business. That's not the debate. The issue is how to still be profitable at a reasonable hourly rate while still considering the upfront...

Re: 640 x 480 Crop Mode

I'm confused...I thought the 600D/T3i (not to be confused with the 60D) crop mode did not lose resolution since it has 18mp to play with, but 1080p only requires 2mp, so the cam can digitally zoom in...

Re: Wedding nightmare...hope this never happens to anyone here

Why wouldn't he be covered if a theft was running away with his gear?

Also, Chris Davis, sure I can think of it as part of business costs, but then that means it needs to be passed onto the...

Re: Differences between GH2 vs GH2K vs GH2H v GH2S

Hmm, guess I haven't noticed the exposure shift on the 7D or the 60D...but my eyes aren't super sensitive to this.

Brian, I found focusing on the 7D to be slightly difficult, which is why I use an...

Re: Wedding nightmare...hope this never happens to anyone here

This is exactly the type of theft I am trying to account for by buying video insurance. The only problem? A $500 deductible...now if I lost a Zoom H4n, a monitor, an XLR mic...that would be the same...

Re: Differences between GH2 vs GH2K vs GH2H v GH2S

Really? I've shot on the 7D a few times and never noticed that it wasn't WYSIWYG. Perhaps a better question is what do you mean when you say the 7D isn't WYSIWYG, and what do you mean when you say...

Re: 640 x 480 Crop Mode

Yes, I have a 70-200mm L f/2.8 already and a fairly decent 501HDV head on nice sticks, but even at 200mm, it doesn't seem zoomed in enough for what I'm trying to do. Really wish I had a T3i or GH2...

Re: 640 x 480 Crop Mode

I'm thinking of using this mode to film my friend's wedding proposal from far away, since the 60D doesn't have digital zoom like the T3i or GH2. However, it seems like this 60D crop mode only has...

Re: Zucato EVF vs. the smallhd 6dp

Could someone explain the difference between an EVF and monitor to me?

AFAIK, isnt' an EVF just a small external monitor with a magnifying loupe in front of it? In essence, isn't an EVF an...

The 3x and 10x on the T3i is the ONE feature I wish my 60D had haha.

Thanks for the clear up, Chris. Brian, not at all obsessing - just need to be thorough. The more I research the GH2, the more problems I find...

I went with the Canon 60D for now because GH2 was...

Re: Lilliput DVI "fix" for blink issue does not work on 60D?

Yeah, thanks! The blink issue and even the squashed aspect ratio issue is explained clearly here:

Effective Pixels 101 on Vimeo

However, I was told that DVI mode would fix the blink issue on...
