Re: Becky + Matt /// Wedding Film Trailer /// Manalapan, NJ

Beautiful work! Nice narrative, nice shots, and cool framing (ex: waist up w/ lots of sky). I liked the dance twirl outdoor-to-indoor transition.

Only comment: when the mother comes back in for...

Hi, Chad,

I see the video, but I didn't catch what you were looking for in feedback/critique...

Re: C300 - Intermittent Loss of Iris Control

It's happened to me on the C100 maybe 3 or 4 times. Needed to restart.

It happened on various lenses. Not just 1.

Re: I call first hug!

Clive,

Are you sure it wasn't planned? (Some brides have told me prior to the ceremony that something like that was *supposed* to happen).

Re: Happy Festivus

Happy Holidays to all, indeed!

I had put this video on another page (C100 related) but it's actually probably more relevant here as a 'Happy Holidays' card to dvinfo:

Dona Nobis Pacem {Waring...

Re: Cheapest acceptable quality audio recorders?

Yes -- I would think that in the ideal world, we would place recorders anywhere the sound sources are. For me, it usually means: lav on the groom (gets the bride, too) and a wav recorder on the...

Re: How much of your video is chronological?

Ditto for me. My highlights are much less chronological than the full "running footage" edit. And I too use all the words from toasts and ceremony as a narrative, which can be mixed out of order...

Re: Dona Nobis Pacem Project

Warren -
Much appreciated and thanks so much for checking it out!

And yes, I totally forgot to mention:

Performers were given a 75 metronome in advance and an "f" at concert pitch. (And the...

Dona Nobis Pacem Project

I made this montage of the famous Dona Nobis Pacem song-round with students at a school in Massachusetts. The music is entirely a collage of what you're seeing and the mic was merely the Rode Video...

Re: Delivery format

The Encore workflow is great. I encode blu-ray and dvd for every wedding client and delivery in a double album from WHCC. For extra copies, it is often that the couple ONLY asks for blu-ray these...

Re: Delivery format

Hard to predict anything on this scale, but my feeling is that if the "cloud" and all the things "up there" suddenly get lost, there are bigger problems than clients' wedding videos.

(This coming...

Re: Quiet wedding

Great job and nicely done sticking to the simplicity of the day.
Did you consider leaving in some ambient sound (as with the last shots) -- such as the vows?

Yes -- I agree that it's so nice once...

Re: GoPro hero 3+ good B-cam for xf300?

XF100 makes a great stationary/balcony wedding camera for the XF300 and the image matches nicely when used as such.

Re: How much do you adjust Shutter Speed?

C100 - I Always leave it at 1/60th and 30p.

I use ND filters for DOF outside.

Re: Can anyone say "uncomfortable?"

Don - I hear you. You are a seasoned guru and I'm normally with you 100% on this forum.

I would only reiterate, though, that the *setting* of this wedding is what, to me, puts this Priest in the...

Re: Can anyone say "uncomfortable?"

I will reiterate my comment (maybe you both posted before seeing?):

This isn't a church. It's outdoors on some verdant lawn. And there's a spectator in the back with sunglasses on! (Do you wear...

Re: Can anyone say "uncomfortable?"

C'mon everyone.

If it were truly a "solemn assembly", the wedding would not be on the verdant lawns of whatever country club that is -- it would be in a church.

In my opinion, the Priest is...

Re: How long does it take...

5 hours includes sorting, labeling clips and editing the running footage (including 2-cam ceremony edit)
2 hours gets me the trailer after that
another 5-6 finishes the 12 minutes highlights

Re: What do you guys deliver first?

It's a balancing act in putting out the trailer (which comes first for me by about a month): dazzling them, but not giving it all away.

You posted the video, but did not ask any questions. What is it exactly you're looking for comments on?

Usually about 45 GB of non-transcoded cards, including WAVs from audio recorders.

Re: Blu Ray printing.

Every time blu-ray comes up for weddings, I chime in but seem to be in the minority. I get LOTS of requests for blu-ray and (automatically) include at least one no matter what in the final order.
