I picked up the HV30 for cheap and it works great under half decent lighting conditions. With a little color grading it matches very well.

I'm sorry I should have been more clear. SDE is a Same Day Edit, for doing weddings. But any advice would be great since I'm new to the XDCAM workflow.

Thanks Aric I will try that as well. I encoded it with compressor using H.264 with the HDV 1080p30 codec and it worked great it fixed the interlaced problems with my 170 footage.

I use mpeg streamclip you can join your clips with this app and its free. I use for FCP because I still can't get FCP to recognize the sony CF cards.
