The main reason I shoot at 24p is so I can use 1/50 sec shutter speed which lets in a hair more light. What shutter speed do you use when you shoot 60p?

Yes. And it is handy. You just have to remember to flip it back when you pick up the unit to use it, otherwise you'll quickly notice everything's suddenly off balance.

Interesting. I'll look into that. I use Vegas, so I don't need to transcode, and the thought of a software solution didn't occur to me.

The 60D battery lasts a long time. I use one for all pre-ceremony. Put a fresh one in for the ceremony (along with a fresh memory card) and have my assistant start charging the old one right away....
