Re: 50mm and 85mm primes at weddings
I use an 85 or 135mm for most things at the reception, including the 1st dance, and move to the 35mm (crop-frame) or 50mm (full-frame) when there is open dancing, and I move through the dance floor...

Re: Getting contracts signed
For the last year I've used DocuSign and enjoyed it, but it wasn't at $15/month (and it's only that cheap if you pay the full $180 up front).
Right now, I'm working on a signable PDF I can email,...

Re: 10 videographers at a wedding!
More than one person filming is for two reasons that I can think of: 1) be in more than one place at a time; 2) backup in case an emergency happens.
For us, it's two people with three cameras...

Re: I hate these lights
It's been my experience that it doesn't matter who the vendor is, DJ, photo, video, or even the cake, a fair number have an overblown sense of their own importance (the day would be ruined without...

Re: I hate these lights
I actually come from the DJ side of things (32 weddings a year) (for video, I'm 2nd shooter to my wife, and do the editing) and can tell you, it's OK to be pissed or annoyed about the DJ lights -...

Re: Processional and Recessional tips
agree with practicing rack focus (I shoot my kids)
other cameras to cut to (a wider balcony/rear shot, and something high up from the side aisle/wall)
from the front, we usually do a crouch shot...

Re: Up to 29 minutes in a t3i
Just read up on this in Magic Lantern.
You can EITHER have a 29 minute file with lower bit rate, OR film at full quality but have it break it up into multiple files (with a slight break of up to a...

Re: How important is white balance?
The T2i doesn't have the same level of control as better Canons, though it does still have some control.
If you're ready for manual control of white balance, it becomes like anything else, you...

Re: yet another, What would you do?
Could you talk to the person who hires you and explain? If the copyright nick trick doesn't work, this could spread to the other schools and become a bigger issue. Your contact may understand that...

Great work, Noa. If we had any places that looked half as nice, I'd gladly use your idea.

Re: Remembering Faces
I started my wedding blog precisely for this reason. I always get a simple head shot of the couple to post and add in some relevant details. Just posting the info helps remember them later, and if...

Re: Up to 29 minutes in a t3i
double check, but I believe the brand new T5i does (I saw it when they announced it, but can't find it now), and has the things that were good about the T3i and T4i. For video, it's probably a...
