let me recommend spending a few extra bucks, not a lot, and skip the 50mm 1.8 and go with the 50mm 1.4 Stunning in low light, almost generates it's own and it's $350. I can't keep it off my camera!...

yeah..it was a bit weird, I ended up on F/4...

yeah..it was a bit weird, I ended up on F/4 iso800 with the shutter at 3200. The L glass on a tripod I think is the real secret. Plus I'm in AZ where the sky is extremely clear. (at least where I am!)

yes I do. But I tried without once just for grins and it worked just as well. My vision has issues with distance but close up, it's perfect so the glasses were a non issue diopter-wise.
