Re: Rhett + Nicole | MUST SEE Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Stelios, you're going to love the 60D and the 17-55 2.8. Great combo. Focus on a DSLR is definitely more challenging but also worth the effort. You'll do fine. d;-)

Re: Brides without BluRay

To be perfectly honest Chris, if a bride wants to watch her wedding in HD then she should just purchase a BluRay player. You shouldn't have to start including them in your packages.

I actually...

Re: Epic Indian SDE by Spain and USA.

Dude, what a great first look with the bride and groom. Gotta love that kind of emotion. Beautifully shot and edited, my man. We still need to hook up and shoot something together. d;-)

Re: Rhett + Nicole | MUST SEE Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

We shoot with 4 cameras and 2 people. We alternate the lenses between the cameras as necessary during the day, but we try to limit the switching to avoid getting dust or debris inside the camera. ...

Greg | Thank you so much. We do pour our hearts into every wedding we film. Thank you so much for noticing and for the comments. d;-)

Re: Rhett + Nicole | MUST SEE Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Dimitris | Thanks!

Gianni | Yes, it's a bit more risky using DSLR versus traditional videocamera. For us it is worth the risk. Regarding lenses, the key is to have a plan on what lens you will...

Re: Rhett + Nicole | MUST SEE Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Gianni | Thanks for watching. We use Canon 7D's and a Canon 60D on our productions. We use Final Cut Pro for editing. For tracking and flying shots we use the Cinevate Atlas 10 and the Steadicam...

Re: What do you do when the wedding party is boring?

Call me crazy but we believe in capturing the real story of the wedding day, and while we might make suggestions for certain things we don't want to manufacture a story on the day. So for us, if the...

Rhett + Nicole | MUST SEE Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

It's easy to get excited about filming a wedding in the Florida Keys with a sunset backdrop and fire jugglers and junkanoo performers and fireworks over the ocean. What's even more exciting is when...

Re: 7D or 60D for HD Dslr?

We have both 7D and 60D and the 60D is a great camera. There are one or two things I prefer about the 7D, but mostly I would recommend the 60D as it has more advantages in my opinion; flip-out LCD,...

Re: Non-IS lenses?

If you're shooting with DSLR's handheld and you want it to look professional, you're going to want to use a lens with IS. I'm really steady handheld .. like rock-steady .. but no one is steady...

Re: sound leakage-proof headphones...good and cheap?

I would look into a pair of drummer's headphones. I have a pair of Vic Firth's and they are built to deaden sound from instruments like drums, so for you it would allow you to turn the volume in...

Re: Why not give all raw footage?

Something to consider is that clients will only value what you place value on. So anything you just include or that you give away for free, the client will place very little value on that. Once you...

Re: RED for wedding video production

John | I think it's a bit offensive to say that weddings are the 'lowest common denominator'. I think a well-done wedding film carries far more value over time than a well-done music video. Those...

Re: How you do this?

Easiest solution I think would be to have 2 cameras running so you could change one while the other keeps recording.

Re: Where do you stand during the processional?

Could you clarify that you're shooting with three cameras, and have yourself and an assistant as shooters?

If that's the case I would place the unmanned camera wide and have your assistant shoot...

Re: Focusing with HDSLR. Do i really need LCDVF or external monitor for sunny day?

We tried them out but didn't like them. So we shoot everything with a bare screen. We did try out screen shades but they don't help out in the sun. The problem is not sunlight hitting the screen. ...

Re: Why not give all raw footage?

Why give something away for free that clients will pay for?

Our industry struggles enough as it is to get paid properly for our talent, expertise, investment and time. To me, giving things away...

Re: Momentarily Stopped Recording

I see you mentioned the 60D. Part of the issue with buffering is that the 7D has two processors whereas the 60D only has one. This results in less internal heat within the camera but also affects...
