Re: DaVinci Resolve

My understanding is round tripping is treating raw footage with a basic lut for editing purposes, then editing footage in your editor, and then taking finalized scenes back to Resolve for fixing...

Re: Is it strange for you to attend a wedding without filming it?

I filmed most friends and family weddings I've gone to. When I don't, I can't help but still have one eye closed like I am looking through the view finder. :)

Re: NEX-VG30 Did it miss the mark?

In comparison with the Canon line codec, there is nothing wrong with the codec on the VG line. The problem is with Sony's unwillingness to allow the user to adjust the picture and to set up...

Re: Should I get the BMCC or the Sony FS100?

Just a few more thoughts to confuse things:

1. I have the SonyVG20, and have use a Black Magic Shtuttle to record. The problem with the VG 20 was that you had no real control of image. It...

Re: Should I get the BMCC or the Sony FS100?

Re: RAW 2 CF RAW Now in Version 1.001

Cineform provides a good way of handling raw files in my opinion. It appears to me to preserve all the range of your original material, and I don't see difference in noise. You end up with a...

Re: NEX-VG30 Did it miss the mark?

Essentially, with the codec, the color setting and contrast are pretty much baked in. Yes, you can adjust somewhat in post, but it just isn't the same as using something like Cinestyle on the...
