mpeg streamclip converting questions

When converting 5dmk2 footage in mpeg streamclip, do I change the framerate to 29.97 or leave it 30p? Furthermore, if my end result is 24p, why not convert it 24p in mpeg streamclip?

Thanks

I've been editing AVCHD on PPro CS4, and while it lags at times, it still relatively smooth, and best of all you can keep it in its native format and save time and hard drive space.
