Just got Pinnacle in the mail, and it works fine...

Just got Pinnacle in the mail, and it works fine as an intermediate to get something you can edit with. The render times aren't too bad, and it's cost effective at 100 bucks.

Thanks for the review. I currently use Vegas 7e, but as you know, no support yet for Pany AVCHD. I ordered the Pinnacle software as Nero, Elecard, and Cineform are not working that well for me.

Funny thing about it is, the output file doesn't play super fast like a typical Cineform file in Vegas. So, it works, but...

I'd be happy if Vegas would atleast let me put the file (Pany AVCHD) on the timeline if only to convert it to something else.

Nero does this for me now, but it crashes frequently.

I will. Vegas 7e does not let you import AVCHD files recorded from a Pany SD1.

Well, the slog and burden continues. Should have stuck with standard HDV. I guess the FX1 will be dusted off again.

At present, I convert it with Nero to Cineform AVI, which is NLE friendly. The only problem is Nero, it seems to run alot of errors frequently.

With the AVCHD to Cineform AVI, AVCHD isn't too bad...

In Vegas 7 in the Color Corrector (Secondary) how does one isolate one color and desaturate the rest? You can drop and drag the effect for red, but I'm sure there is an easy way to do the same for...
