Re: Using music during long version

Without getting into the copyright issue, one thing I really like doing with the long form version of the film:

I make 2 audio tracks for the DVD: one with music sprinkled through to spice it up,...

Re: Online Wedding DVD

Yes, I've been enjoying this feature of Encore myself.

Just really wish it worked on iPads/iPhones.

Re: Timed Packages

I try to be proactive about that issue and have a single price for weddings (that stipulates 8 hours being included). I do this because I've found that 8 hours seems to be the magic number for...

Re: C100 Data Needs Recovery Message

Very scary, Art. I don't have a concrete answer for you except that I BELIEVE I mistakenly turned mine off at one point while recording and, if I took notice correctly, the camera stopped the...

Re: First C100 Wedding

Art - forgot to ask: do you mind sharing the preview song? (is it from SongFreedom?)
Great work.

Re: Camera roll call - what do you shoot with, how do you feel it performs?

C100 main
XF300 secondary

They perform beautifully in tandem, with the C100 used as main cam and for artistic/shallower depth of field shots and the XF300 used as wide ceremony camera locked...

Re: First C100 Wedding

For me, the clients' ability to discern or not was not my first motivator. They just want it to look good and I won't disagree with you that they probably won't know a 5D from a C100. But, knowing...

Re: First C100 Wedding

Not sure I agree. From the comparisons I've seen, the C100 handles not only dynamic range extremes better than the best DSLRs, but also gives you better sharpness in those details in the distance.

Labeling Your Equipment, Lenses

I searched the forums, but couldn't find a thread specifically on the question of:

Do you label your equipment down to the lenses? (besides just tagging your bag). If so, I'd love to hear what...

Re: New Highlights all the way from Guernsey

(Regarding the solo shooter comments): actually what I really love about Luke's work (along with all the gorgeous things already cited here by everyone) is that it DOES have the feel of a solo...

Re: First efforts with a C100 (ho ho ho...)

I'm starting to REALLY love the Cine Log (on the topic of watching out for blown highlights). What great latitude it gives you.

Re: Weddings/Events "On-Demand" via Vimeo

OK -- so although the music rights thing is an interesting issue, I probably should elaborated in my post. Yes, I'm curious about SongFreedom's being legal or not on the new Vimeo "on demand", but I...

Weddings/Events "On-Demand" via Vimeo

Anyone out there thinking they might use this?

https://vimeo.com/creatorservices

I only very quickly took a peek. Would music from sites such as SongFreedom be legal in this capacity?

Re: C100 grainy images

Wow, Martin and Merv. Not at all my experience. I use Wide DR and Cine and they are both exquisite and sharp, too. Haven't changed any of the other camera settings/profiles.

Re: Wedding vs venue highlights

Not to mention a live performance of Verdi's Libiamo !!! (Even if the tenor was a bit tired by the end :)

Re: Featuring in your own shots

MOST of the time, toasts go as I hope/as planned and all is fine.

Occasionally (and usually when the DJ supplies a stand (with a mic ON the stand) as opposed to a handheld to pass around, things...

Re: C100 LCD screen green tinge?

Yes - appears about 300-400k "cooler" than it really is.

Re: C100 - Zoom Lens Advice

If you're doing tons of plays and concerts, the XF300 is an outstanding choice.

Re: C100 - grading Cine Log (sample & advice)

Thanks, Steve!

For the speaking: Sennheiser G3 Wireless lavalier
For the "foley" type stuff/ambient sound, merely the Rode Videomic that on the camera's shoe mount.

Re: Canon C100 24-105mm Kit available for order at Texas Media Systems

Let me put 2 plugs:

1. Terry and the staff were excellent to work with in my purchases

2. The 24-105 is a PERFECT companion/all-around lens for the C100.

Re: Anti-theft?

I say this only half-kiddingly:

are there not homing devices (such as the "Find My iPhone" app) that could be hidden in one's valuables?

If my phone happened to be in the gear bag, I could...
