Re: Need new provider

I think DaCast is pretty reasonable & reliable. Pricing goes per month or per event.

Re: Simple switcher advice?

Can you estimate a price range?

Also, what's this going to be for, live events? By your wording it doesn't seem it'll be for livestreaming.

I would think a Roland switcher can do it, but not...

Re: Gopro Hero 6 Affordable, And Some Other Thoughts

Man, this thread makes me not feel bad for nearly giving up on my GoPro. It's a GoPro 3, and my problems are twofold.

First, (personal choice), they're just too one dimensional. The...

Re: How to find actors for paid short?

I would suggest a mix of Craigslist (albeit not as popular anymore), any acting casting places nearby, and a local comedy circuit venue or local theater. Maybe even post on a Facebook groups page &...

Re: Mobile streaming to youtube

How do you all handle internet connection? Just log in to the church/venue wi-fi?

I couldn't imagine relying on or assuming (or taking someones word for it) that they have internet & arriving the...

Re: Mobile streaming to youtube

A bit pricey, but a solid option is Wirecast https://www.telestream.net/wirecast/overview.htm . Hooks up via HDMI to a Magewell capture card to USB.

Doable. You can do alot with Wirecast, make it...

Re: bts shots from the latest mission impossible

Cool stuff. Surprised he rides the motorcycle around with no helmet. Pretty ballsy, plus I would think insurance has him as a $50 million dollar policy or something. Guessing the cycle is built to...

Re: Broadcast Cameras for Church

Might I suggest a Sony X70 or X90? Camcorder build & ergonomics, power zoom, no worries about external lenses, HDMI & SDI out, 1" sensor, full manual controls, Multi Interface port for...

Re: 1" chip vs 3 x 1/3" chips

Charlie I went from a Sony Z5U to a Sony X70. It's definitely an upgrade as far as low light performance is concerned. Much less grain comparitively as well. I can bump it up to maybe 18-21 whereas...

Re: Where have all the wedding videographers gone?

Personally I think photography has become more saturated than video. I've seen alot of photogs who are almost more like 'friends/guests' shoot the wedding, moreso in an effort to get a port going....

Re: Revamping awards ceremony for time

Hmmm, I should have added that I have little to no input into the planning scripting, and that I have little to no say in how the ceremony goes. It's all on their end, I show up & shoot it. I doubt...

Matching Camera (A7?)

Anyone have any luck with a second camera for these? I'm have an X70 with a VG900 & think its a great camera, but I feel it gives a more blue-ish hue whereas the X70 tends to be reddish. Also its...

Revamping awards ceremony for time

Figured I'd ask some 3rd parties for advice/input on something I'm having difficulty with. Maybe need some independent/non-vested parties to think it thru or give a suggestion. About 3 years ago, I...

Re: which printer do you use?

Epson XP-640. Just bought it last year at Best Buy. Had a similar model (630?) but had issues last year & had to get a new one. I think it was the only one they had which printed to DVD & I agree...

Re: Who adds shots of food in their weddingfilm?

Gotcha. See, our weddings are done by 23:00, sometimes 22:00

Re: Who adds shots of food in their weddingfilm?

See, in America, dinner is somewhat rushed, at least compared to what you time it as. 3-4 hours? Jeez, I feel its been too long when an hour's gone by.

For me its generally around 7pm...

Re: Where have all the wedding videographers gone?

Yeah for $450 I'd guess its single camcorder, very little post/editing. If you do it right I suppose it could be an ok setup so long as your customers aren't expecting much. Could be a 2nd revenue...

Re: Who adds shots of food in their weddingfilm?

I don't shoot it, not sure if its a country/cultural thing, but are you guys talking about cocktail hour, or dinner?

During cocktail hour I'm typically shooting the venue before guests enter & sit...

Re: Gradual changes to my wedding over the years

Yeah I started around 2010 as well. From DV, to HD, now onto 4k although I'm not delivering it yet but its next. Incorporating multicam alot more whereas before it was more an 'Uh-oh" backup camera...

Re: Where have all the wedding videographers gone?

I think it's just message boards in general. This one is the most active out of the couple I used to visit regularly (others were not video related, but have since faded off nonetheless).

People...

Re: Ideas for editing PC upgrade

I'm in a similar position as you, or approaching it. I can get thru the year (wedding season) with my current setup, but my export times are annoyingly long anymore. Plus with 4K coming, I'll need to...

Re: Budget Camcorder/Fish Eye Combo for Skateboarding Video

Wow, I think you're taking it a bit too literally. It was more of a term of endearment. While other teens might want 4k, XBox 360, the newest Call of Duty, and a iPhone X, Kanye & Drake,...

Re: Budget Camcorder/Fish Eye Combo for Skateboarding Video

I agree. I guess you can't always predict these things but it's probably similar to vinyl. Plus skateboarding tends to have that punk/anti-establishment mantra.

I would think they're available...

Re: Youtube Dance Shows - copyright

In a way, yes. Keep in mind however there was the case about Tony Romo's wedding video years ago. Granted, that was almost 10 years now, but the videographer used a Coldplay sony for his highlights....
