Re: Good, fast general utility lens for GH2/3?

Another vote for the Lumix GX 12-35 f2.8 Bill. Seems to have become THE lens for me.

Re: Tips for shooting with my HMC-150 in sunrise and sunset?

Noam,

I often shoot Grand Canyon and mountain sunset & sunrise with much warmer white balance and moderate to extreme underexposure.

Good shooting.

Re: Editing with GH 50mbps mov files

Thanks for the updates William & Alan. Looks like we're all experiencing the same issue with MOV h.264 50Mbps, and that it may not be a RAM issue.

Re: Editing with GH 50mbps mov files

Actually, AVCHD max Bit Rate is 28Mbps, and the MOV Bit Rates are 50 & 72Mbps. The Frame Rate appears to be my issue. Below 60p all is well, at 60p problems grow as the project gets larger.

I'll...

Re: Editing with GH 50mbps mov files

Same issue here with Thunderbolt drive William. Transcoding "Optimizing" solved my issue as well. In my case, I believe it's a lack of RAM (4GB).

Re: GH3: Gold King Mine, Jerome Arizona

Thanks for the positive comments Leon.

After reviewing reference photos taken before each video clip, I believe you may be seeing sun reflected off dry foliage.

Thanks for looking.

GH3: Gold King Mine, Jerome Arizona

Still searching for subjects to produce aliasing and moire with the GH3. This project involves more movement, more shallow depth of field and yet more opportunity for digital mud. Fortunately, at a...

Re: GH3: Arizona Biltmore Resort

Thank you for the good words and close look Leon.

I believe we may be seeing the typical dried edges of most Arizona plant-life after months of no significant rain. Especially in the palms and...

Re: GH2: Grand Canyon North Rim (GX 12-35 f2.8)

Thank you for the good comments Norm. I used a Gitzo GT2531LVL tripod and Manfrotto 701HDV head for this project.

Re: GH2: Grand Canyon North Rim (GX 12-35 f2.8)

Thomas, The zoom ring is very smooth, but despite being a constant aperture lens, there is very audible clicking and apparent exposure change as you zoom. Even more so than the 14-140 & 14-45. Full...

Re: GH2: Grand Canyon North Rim (GX 12-35 f2.8)

Thanks for watching Patrick.

Contrary to what I've read, and though I don't often record zooms, this lens does breath when zooming. There is also very audible clicking when zooming. Still looking...

Re: GH2: Grand Canyon North Rim (GX 12-35 f2.8)

It is a fine lens. However, for 90% of this project the Lumix 14-140 or 14-45 are just as well constructed and produce comparable images. I'm also skeptical of a lens that extends while zooming being...

First project with the Lumix GX 12-35 f2.8 lens. Was the only lens used, and none other was needed or desired.

Re: I want to Hack what am I missing

Why not just use the GH2 and forget the hack. This camera shoots stunning video as is.
