Re: Just got the LS300 camera - very happy so far
I prefer to manual focus all the time and only let the camera refocus with a push of the button, I don't trust either my gh4 nor ls300 for continuous autofocus and for my kind of work I am only...

Re: Just got the LS300 camera - very happy so far
Alltough the peaking is very accurate on the camera the quality of the lcd and viewfinder are pretty bad in comparison to about any camera i have used the past years. You really need to use peaking...

If I would have edited it I"d cut it shorter, you have some very nice shots in there and those you have to emphasize without becoming repetitive in your shot choice, a mistake I see more beginning...

Re: Odd X70 / SD / Battery problem
But he has 2 x70's who both exhibit the same problem so I think something else must be going on, can be that the battery is taken out before the camera is actually off, can be the type of cards or...

Re: Odd X70 / SD / Battery problem
When I take out the battery I always put my ear to the side of the camera because you can hear when it actually shuts down which is not when you press the powerbutton but a few seconds later. I also...

Re: FS5 - Are you doing manual WB?
That would actually be almost the same as running a unmanned camera, eventhough you can see what the camera is doing, the Ronin prevents you from controlling the camera while you are shooting. Doug...

Well, I still find it a valid point, whether you agree with it or not, I know we where talking about manned camera's and there I shared my opinion on using auto modes but since we where also talking...

The point being that there are exceptions to the rule where you don't have a choice as it was said there always is a choice. I also wasn't talking about gopro's but fully featured videocamera's that...

Re: FS5 - Are you doing manual WB?
There is actually one exception which I didn't mention as I was talking from a standpoint where I am operating a camera, in that case I always do my exposure manually, even in rapidly changing light...

Re: FS5 - Are you doing manual WB?
I think weddings can be considered as fast r&g events as well but I never would use auto iris as that is according to me, together with getting the right whitebalance and focus a keyfactor in getting...

Re: NEX AE 50UH and lenses
I think it's clear the ea50 has not been Sony's bestseller and I doubt there will ever come a successor, too bad really as it is a excellent camera but could use a updated sensor. I wish Sony would...

With the pc configuration Anthony has I highly doubt the WD blue drives are the bottleneck if he even can't deal with a single layer of avchd footage. WD blue drives are actually not that slow,...

My gh3/4/gx80 are about the same to operate so there I don't need to think to much when switching, the ax100 is very easy to use and the only thing I do manually is touchfocus and whitebalance if...

I find white-balance cards difficult to deal with when working alone, you either need to hold them in front of your camera by yourself or ask someone to hold it for you or place them on something....

When you have to move fast looking for "something white" indoors is a luxury you often don't have which is why I like using my expodisc so much, I only need to look at the light source that I need a...

Sensitivity is the same, the gh4 is only less noisy at the highest iso's + when you edit in a 1080p project and shoot 4K the downconversion makes the noise smaller as well which also helps in making...

Re: FS5 - Are you doing manual WB?
I have another camera but the principle is the same, for run and gun I use a expodisc to whitebalance which is very quick to do and easy to carry around.
