Re: XHA1S or XA10

Hi James and welcome!

I'd personally think you'd waste near on £2000 for the XA10 and would be better spending nearer your £3000 budget on a XF100...you can easily ready what I think of both from...

Panasonic TM900 - Latest Tests

It's a lovely sunny day here in England so I've just got back from an hours walk around town with my Panasonic TM900 to test out a few specific things and take a break from the corporate editing I'm...

Re: looking for a good camera for video

George,

I don't mean to be rude but you've asked a lot of similar questions to this all over the forum in the last few weeks and had a lot of good advice. My advice to you now is decide what's...

Re: Macro Lens

Another vote for that lens. It really produces fantastic images. Mine paid for itself the first photo session I did with it and the client (in my case corporate) was delighted with the results!

Re: Small "travel" video camera

Alastair, why can't you just convert the clips with Compressor to ProRes 422 for editing in FCP? If not, maybe consider Clipwrap - see the 3rd post in the thread below - would save a lot of space...

Re: Small "travel" video camera

This thread (below) summarises most of them. Also, if you want to go cheaper get the ones without the 32GB on-board flash memory that the TMs have, the new HS900 or older HS700. Some other model...

Re: Small "travel" video camera

Hi Andy (great name!)

What computer/NLE you using? I was dead against AVCHD but have found that (at least on my recent Windows box running Vegas) it's actually pretty painless...yet to try it on...

Panasonic TM900 - 1080p50 with Vegas 9E Undersampling

OK, here is a link to my second Panasonic TM900 1080p50 slow motion/Vegas test. Identical 1080p50 28Mbps footage from the TM900 as in the first test clips posted above except all I've done here is...

Panasonic TM900 - Best Shutter Speed for 50p as Slowmotion

Hi again,

Been "playing around" this morning (nothing client critical) with some 1080p50 shot at 1/50th Sec shutter speed in full manual on the TM900 and then placed on a 1080p50 timeline in Vegas...

Re: which lens 70-200mm f/2.8L IS the old or the new ?

First let me say I've not tried the new 70-200 F2.8 IS lens with it's upgraded Image Stabilisation system but I'm very familiar with the old version (had one on extended loan from a friend) but in...

Panasonic TM900 Review

Here is the Slashcam assessment on the TM900 (German camcorder review site). I have mixed feelings about some of their tests (as I've mentioned before elsewhere on here) but judge for yourselves...

Re: Sharpness EX1/3 and TM900

Regarding sharpness, amazingly there is something close to the EX3 - my new Panasonic TM900 when it's in 1080p50 mode (28Mbps AVCHD). Several times now I've got to pinch myself that a camera that...

Re: Studio forum?

Hi Mikeal,

I don't think there is - but in the past I have seen some big threads about studios so maybe Chris could think about an area set aside just for this (if he and others see a need). One...

Re: Which tapeless camcorder is best for Final Cut Pro7?

OK, I'll take a stab at this to get the ball rolling.

Personally, I would not worry about AVCHD and FCP 7.0 as the new Final Cut Studio is widely expected to be released "this Spring". I think...

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

Who knows, maybe NAB will see further adoption of 1080p50/60 across the Panasonic line-up, hopefully!

Just got back from Scotland. Used the TM900 a lot. Still loving it!

Re: Sony HXR-MC50E versus CX700V

You might want to look at this newer, cheaper, and I suspect potentially better alternative...and it can shoot in a great progressive format too!

Re: A Wish List for the 2011 Final Cut Studio

TM 900 Filters - Vignetting?

Thanks Dave. I read on another web forum that a number of TM 900 users have indicated that it does NOT suffer from the "bondi blue" effect that the TM700 had - but have not had the time (or...

By the way, I found this lovely little film on Vimeo yesterday. This guy shows some of the potential of these small little Panasonics well (in this case he's using a SD700). Purists will argue that...
