I use the Canopus ADVC-110 every week to capture...

I use the Canopus ADVC-110 every week to capture a live NTSC input via RCA Input and into a laptop via firewire. It is then fed into Windows Media Encoder.

I have done this and have not found a down side...

I have done this and have not found a down side other then the little extra work that it requires but that is accounted for in my bill. I will even do a password protection if they desire it.

Well. I would suggest Uninstalling the Codec Pack. Uninstalling CS4. Uninstall anything to do with video. Reboot when asked. Possibly run a registry cleaner but I cannot suggest one at the moment....

I edit sometimes via capturing in PP4 but most is done from .m2ts from my NNovia unit. So yes to the mpeg2 but no to it being JVC Footage. Sorry about not specifiying that earlier.
