Re: Non Essential But Helpful Purchases
I agree about the 4K cards. I have four of the SanDisk Extremes with 95mb/s. I'll hopefully have a full kit of them once they come down in price.
That's great stuff, Chris! I am still happy...

Re: wide angle lenses for dancing
A 7mm fixed prime lens at f/1.8 or f/2 might be the perfect solution for this problem... maybe Olympus or Panasonic will release a lens like that? I know the Full Frame counterparts have prime lenses...

Re: Asked to film for another company
Shouldn't this be moved to the private room? I would share in there, but I'd be reluctant to do so given that anyone can read what we write here and we're under our real names - I have a few stories...

Re: Screwed in Chicago
Did the guy have any footage to show you of his work previously?
Did he not wish to work for free, given that he had literally no experience at all?
If he's just starting out, I think you have to...

Re: ND Fader limitations.
Which brand did you go with, Steve?
I can see from your lenses that you shoot M4/3! :D
I am considering getting a native ND for my 40-150. The way I see it is, if it is really sunny, I can...

Re: Shoot weddings at UHD or 1080??
I follow Noa's advice with regards to UHD, though importing a 4K file into ProRes can seriously render your system to a halt.
Currently, I am considering upgrading my MacBook Pro 17" from 2011...

Re: How Do You Use Your Steadicam/Gimbal?
Ian, does the Ronin M require a monitor? Also, did you consider a G2X? How long are motors supposed to last in these things? And finally, are they easily replaced and for what cost?
Thanks Ian!...

Off topic - but interesting, the board is more like a family than a strictly ruled thread-based asylum - always think it would be cool to have a mass meet up!

Apparently he's done this numerous times, before actually injuring himself, but I've never heard of anyone intentionally grabbing a drone to do a selfie/POV shot before? Stupid idea.
I think they...

Re: shooting dance recitals with a 4k camera
I am loving the AX100 too, for the same reasons. The only problem I have with 4K workflows is when you transcode it into ProRes and the file sizes shoot through the roof. Are you all editing using...

Re: Getting Back into the game...need advice
Another good recommendation! If it isn't your main cam, and you'd be leaving it on auto - I think I'd have sprung for the AX33 too. Noa doesn't seem to think the extra size of sensor in the AX100...
