Re: First Wedding - advice for a solo shooter?

Like Roger said, be aware as a solo shooter it's hard to control all that gear and get the shots you need. You have to know if you'll have time to set this all up properly because if you miss...

Re: C100 cheat sheet

Hi Matt,
I found it to be very useful. There were one or two things in the cheat sheet that have made the C100 much better for me. So thanks again!

Hi Max,
that's the idea behind the thread, to see how others manage the same situations. Let's see if others are interested!

Wedding techniques, organised by style of wedding video (for want of a better name!)

A while back I posted in the following thread about discussing more real world experiences when filming weddings of different styles and lengths.

Re: *** PLEASE HELP!!! Canon C100 Picture Profiles for Weddings

I'm in a similar situation. I just use WDR as I don't really like EOS standard. I suppose someone has a tweaked WDR setting but when shooting a wedding you need an all terrain setting and so far WDR...

Re: External Mic Mode Setting C100

Stefan, what mics are you using? xlrs? I have used a shotgun mic in 1 channel in auto and the camera mic in the other channel set lower as a back up.
If I'm using the rode video mic then I use auto...

Re: Latest trailer, complete with phantom aerials!

Nice video. Interesting seeing the aerial shot. Is it not a bit of a hassle dragging a drone around at a wedding?
I have another question, the aerial shot shows a big empty carpark. Is that just for...

Re: I said i would not put him in the video but?

My 2 business partners are photographers. They both have their own ways of getting in the film. One is very laid back and the other a bit hyper and they try to remember not to step in front of the...

Re: Can we talk about the color grading trends for those shooting with the Canon C100

I use WDR and I only correct if my white balance is a bit out. If the white balance and exposure are spot on then I like the look. That's not always possible due to mixed and changeable lighting etc....

Got to thank Matt Davis for his cheat sheet. It's been a great help.

Re: Steadicam Solo - $499

The remaining problem could be that the Solo monopod with 701 head might be too tall for comfortable use with the hip jib.

That's possibly true. I'd have to measure the Solo and compare it to my...

Re: Steadicam Solo - $499

Hi Jon,
I have found that I use the fluid head quite a bit in my set up as it helps keep everything fluid! Little tilt ups or downs, smoother pans, small adjustments, it has become almost automatic...

Re: Steadicam Solo - $499

Hi Jon,
I think it might work but it's not ideal. A fluid head offers much more control. I'm a bit tired of have kit which is almost ok, I'm now looking for set up that is strong in all areas! I'll...

Re: Steadicam Solo - $499

It's kind of like what Jon has said.
If I use a monopod I need a fluid head otherwise it's just for static shots which is limited.
I have been using the Hipjib.

Re: Steadicam Solo - $499

would this work with a fluid head on top?
i use a monopod with a 701 manfrotto head in a hibjib (human tripod). the fluid head is essential to shoot at the right angle. the steady cam solo looks...

Re: C100 LCD monitor usability

It's not very good in sunlight as the reflections are brutal. In normal conditions it's fine for me although it has limited movement. The C-cup helps the viewfinder become a useful tool in bright...

Re: List your top video producers in the Wedding industry?

Whilst these videos are great to look at I'd imagine they represent only 1% of wedding videos. They are super over produced and that's not possible or desired in most cases. If 3000$ is more or less...
