I've had a lot of good use out of the Tokina...
I've had a lot of good use out of the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 and a friend loves his 12-24mm f/4. Other than that, the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L is a strong choice as well. I haven't found a mid-range zoom...
