Re: What's new for Adobe at NAB? Look...

Didn't they do the same with the MXF file handling bugs in CS5? The fix was to pay for an upgrade, as I recall!

Re: What's new for Adobe at NAB? Look...

The audio synching for multicam looks amazing. It'll be good to have it all inside Premiere, rather than having to use 3rd-party software that's always a bit clunky.

The updates to the timeline...

Re: The $4 part that every videographer needs.

Well it's more like $12 in the UK... quelle surprise!

Still got one, it's better than elastic bands holding batteries together in my backpack. Thanks to Nate for the tip.

Re: Adobe's NAB Sneak Peek revealed

Looks interesting. The built-in synch feature in Premiere for syncing multicam clips using audio will probably arrive before a proper version of PluralEyes 3.0 for Windows!

Re: Panasonic ag ac90 - Uk customer delays

Just to correct this.... I meant Glidetrack, not Glidecam!

Re: 25p to DVD, that clunky power zoom and slow motion

+1 for what Chris says.

50p is surely better for slow-mo? If you shoot 25p, getting slow motion will require frames to be interpolated/blended, effectively the software has to "make up" what isn't...

Re: CS6 Premiere Pro choking on mundane stuff

Al, thanks for the explanation, that helps. You basically mean copying the MTS files out of the AVCHD folder structure and putting them somewhere else?

Yes, you can have 14 files all called...

Re: CS6 Premiere Pro choking on mundane stuff

Just to clarify, I'm on 6.0.3, I update Pr as soon as each update is available.

Al, I've tried it with new projects and old projects, it didn't make things any better if it was a brand new project...

Re: AC130/160 Clip - Swedish Institute

It is a massive camera. But I find it easy to hand hold, despite my initial worries. I did 4 hours handheld with my new AC130 last weekend and it wasn't a problem at all for me.

That's mad. Prestons did it for me without prompting last time!

Re: Camera malfunctioning

The regular Sale of Goods Act in the UK probably covers this, up to a point. As does a credit card purchase, where you would get some form of buyer protection.

But Sony Prime Support in Europe is...

Re: Camera malfunctioning

Folks,

You really should be getting a communication from Sony pretty soon after you purchase your camera. I wouldn't assume that you are registered when you've heard nothing. When I got my NX70,...

Re: Camera malfunctioning

Might be worth contacting Sony Prime Support to get it looked at, Noa. One benefit (in the UK at least) is they're supposed to supply a replacement unit while yours is being serviced.

Re: New Sony HXR-NX30E Palmcorder with advanced Stabilization

Dave,

The NX70 doesn't have the BOSS system (Balanced Optical SteadyShot), it's a more traditional steadyshot. There is also an Active Steadyshot that I presume uses software to stabilise the...

Re: Camera bag recommendation for NX5U

Ken,

That's an excellent bag... the new Katas are a bit better than the old CC- range in my opinion (I have a CC-193 as well). I got the CC-195 for my new Panasonic AC130, and am delighted with...

Re: CS6 Premiere Pro choking on mundane stuff

This is the thing.... I know my way round computers (I'd need to after all these years in the business). Plenty of disk space, defragged regularly, no unnecessary files etc. The issue is not down to...

Re: CS6 Premiere Pro choking on mundane stuff

Ron,

My system is similar to yours apart from the RAM (I have 8GB) and an ATI graphics card.

I suspect it is a specific combination of hardware and software here for CS6, along with specific...

Re: CS6 Premiere Pro choking on mundane stuff

Sorry to resurrect this.

Steve, I'm having a similar problem to you with 1080 50i footage from my new Panasonic AC130a. I'll post computer specs later (can't do it from memory).

But.... here's...

Re: Battery for ac90

Hmmm... I have a downer on third-party batteries. The only thing they have going for them is price. My second battery from Panasonic costs about £180!

I learned my lesson with my Panasonic HMC41...

Re: Panasonic AC90 & TM900

The 130 is a beast Chris... in a good way! I'm out on my first filming mission this weekend, time will tell. I operate one camera, outdoors, and auto features aren't important for me.

I find the...

Re: unwanted files in CS5 premiere pro

These files have always appeared in a sub-folder for me, they tend not to get in the way of all my source files etc. I generally have them on a separate hard disk (I think it improves performance),...

Re: Panasonic AC90 & TM900

The "spray painted hair" effect was caused by a picture profile setting. I forget the exact circumstances, but one of the settings was dialled back from -3 to 0 or something like that. Not an...

Re: Panasonic AC90 & TM900

I'm not sure about the 90, but Pansonic normally supply a DVD that...
