Re: Optimum length for a Wedding Video
I'm going down the route for all future bookings of offering a choice as to what they want. This is a continuation of an experiment I began recently where I break out the editing as a separate item....

Beach Wedding, advice needed.
Next weekend, I'm headed South to the coast for a beach wedding.
I've confirmed the ceremony is out in the sand while the reception is up at a concrete pavilion.
Anyone have any advice or...

Perseid Timelapse
Used the interval timer last night for the first time. Got a few!
I was super impressed with the battery life of the EN EL15.
I started at 10:00PM and it last until 2:30AM! I put a new battery...

Re: American tradition
Not so much a tradition... not everyone does it. At least not in my area (or maybe just my weddings. lol)
I say for me, it's more like 1 in 10 that do the gift... and in 15 years, I've never had...

Pick up a second F3 if you need one.
I was actually at B&H looking around for an FS100 and I noticed they have been discontinued it looks like... did some searching on Sony and it looks like Sony is in the midst of a big discount promo...

Re: D750 Video Workout
You can most definitely do a manual WB using a card, and ideally I'd be using my DSC Labs one shot for WB... but on wedding day, I'm finding that unless in some extreme situation (like inside a...

Re: 4K experiment this weekend!
I have the X1000 footage from the ceremony. The church was moderately dark and the gain was pushed high. I was not running the camera, my second shooter was using the remote control app on his phone....

Re: 4K experiment this weekend!
I can't wait to try it out. He says it's about the same size as our old Canon GL1s, which I thought were just about the perfect size for weddings.
Menu is a bit clunky. He said he was impressed...

4K experiment this weekend!
One of my second shooters just picked up a Panasonic x1000 from some local auction place for $1400.
Everything works and it's in brand new condition. We're going to use it at my wedding shoot this...

Re: 70-200mm lens
I use my 70-200 on a tripod at the reception for sure. Usually have my Nikon Coolpix A on a bracket that is shooting the dance floor wide.
General rule of thumb is, if on a tripod, VR IS OS should...

Re: Next big wedding trend -- VR?
We are currently looking to go down this route as a novelty add on item. Personally I think the market is still for story telling type videos, but this is definitely a cool add-on.
One of my...

Re: camera slider
I have a 501 plate attached to the bottom of mine. My slides are usually pretty short and involve going over the center of the slider, so I don't usually have any real movement problems.
I got a...

Re: camera slider
I got a 30" Konova K3.
Now that I've had it a couple years... I wish I had gotten a smaller one.
24" or so would be better IMO.
Is it essential? Well, it's the easiest IMO to incorporate...

Re: Anyone using the FZ1000 for weddings?
Colors looked pretty good on that last clip - maybe a bit over saturated for me personally. WB was a little all over the place as well, but overall it looked nice.
Now that Sony has released...

Re: HXR-NX100: 1'' sensor NXCAM
