Re: Getting Back into the game...need advice

So, I started doing weddings last year. I've shot four, have two more in a few months time and one booked so far for next year.

After seeing the benefits and cons of using camcorders (Panasonic...

Re: Audio Test - Opinions Please

Hi Clive,

I'm no expert, but I am wearing AKG 550s (over the ear closed back headphones) to test the sound quality.

Personal thoughts:

1: Background noise:
I felt the final listen was...

Re: Little mics that plug straight into jack (No wire)

Can anyone explain why these are preferable over an audio recorder with built in stereo mics?

Is it purely a matter of size?

Re: incamera stabilisation

Really? I am surprised if the EM1 doesn't turn out to be a better video camera than the EM5 MKII, because a lot of people will likely consider the cheaper EM5 MKII if the stills don't improve vastly,...

Re: What new product are you most excited about?

I have read about that technology! Exciting!

I am most interested in the g2x gimbal from Defy, or the new Ronin M.

Re: Second Camera to AX100

I'm really hoping that Sony update the AX100 at NAB. I know that the AX100 has just received a big firmware update, but the lower 4K model camcorders have OIS and other features that the AX seems to...

Re: The "sigh" reply...

I've seen a videographer do similar on his website, though I didn't really think his footage was very good. He did at least comment about the reasons videographers cost what they do and made a very...

Re: incamera stabilisation

Thanks a lot Michael! I looked heavily into the DR40... but eventually purchased a Zoom H5 for the same reasons - and it's supposedly got a better codec... but the DR40 looks great and I do like my...

Re: Just received virus from hell, be warned!

This happened on a TV series about lawyers - I think it was called 'The Good Wife' recently. A hacker in Russia was hacking their system and witheld all of their documents regarding clients. They...

Re: Shot Sequencing Tips / Maintaining Prep-like Footage (Highlights / Feature Film)

Adrian, I need to report your post for being "Awesome!" haha

Thank you, I'm sure that every videographer would have their tips, and I think this is really interesting topic that I can't seem to...

Shot Sequencing Tips / Maintaining Prep-like Footage (Highlights / Feature Film)

Hello,

As many of you know, I'm working my way into the industry, but I'm not even a semi pro yet, so I still have a lot to learn.

Having shot three films, I've realised that my preps really...

Re: opinions on my 2014 recap "why get video" Montage.

Apple meets Wedding Video.

Was this the idea? I laughed hard at the comparison, and the acting, which was fantastic in that sort of sense!

Reminded me of Johnny Ive, "Why a wedding video?...

Re: incamera stabilisation

Sounds amazing, Noa.

Whilst you're online - GoPro Hero 4 is at £211 at Amazon UK - don't know if you can buy there - but it's the best price I've seen! It's out of stock, but will deliver once in...

Re: incamera stabilisation

Yeah, someone on Facebook said the same - they'd use an aperture ring. I'm not interested in using one, unless I'm using the M4/3 42.5mm f1.2 lens - which I don't own!

Hopefully Panasonic will go...

Re: incamera stabilisation

Haha I nearly made this post on announcement day, then held back from doing so because it's just 'weddings and events'. Nearly emailed Noa as well, as I knew this would be his dream!

The EM1 will...

Re: Ok I'm done... selling my wedding gear (UK)

Seriously?! That's such a shame, Dave. What's happened to make you finally decide to do this?

I'd have purchased all of your kit, but I can't afford to.

Hope the rest of your business is...

Re: DSLR for weddings

To chime in on the A7S: Be aware that if you wish to shoot 4K, the add on isn't necessarily going to be cheap - and adds to your bulk.

Also, the A7Rii that Sony just introduced has 5 axis image...
