Re: magic lantern firmware on 55D
I thought you are supposed to use the CHDK utility to set the bootflag, not update the firmware? Did you read through the pdf that has step by step instructions that comes with the download?

Re: How much better is GH2 over Canon T3i?
I haven't seen a good gh2 vs t3i thread, some hopefully this is constructive. I think it boils down to your shooting taste. IMO, gh2 is a videocamera and t3i is more of a film camera. I have a gh1...

Re: magic lantern firmware on 55D
Do a search on youtube for exact instructions. Majic lantern doesn't updated the firmware, it resides on the sd card. Once it sees it on the sd card it will boat up.

For a new videographer, which of the previous In[focus] gathering would you recommend reviewing first over the internet?

Re: Lessons Learnt - From that first wedding
Haha, Chris, good story.
Lets see, stuff I've learned.
1-First wedding, realized that I needed to stabilize better.
2-Learned to insert a fresh cf card for the ceremony. Took to many shots at...

Re: How many are using non Canon lenses?
Bill,
Any solutions for a lens hood with filters connected? I was wondering if there was a soft generic lens hood that you could slide over the adapter and filter combo but still keep it out of...

Re: How many are using non Canon lenses?
Another minor thing, Nikors focus in the right direction. Dream kit would be the new nikor Zeiss lenses on the canon bodies (plus it gives you aperture control). When using a follow focus, focusing...

Re: How many are using non Canon lenses?
I went through a 50's stage. Bought a Zeiss 50 1/4 c/y. It acts more like a 1.2(compared to my 1.4 lens), and the bokeh is really nice. I use it almost exclusively for dancing at receptions. I...

The advice I was given when I started out was, do it for free, or do it at...

What will it take to run? Do you need a $2000 video card to use it? Do you need the special keyboard to use it?

Re: Zeiss 18-90mm...?
I believe c-mount can only be used on mirrorless cameras. There is a c/y mount zeiss in a similar focal length that is rated as one of the best zoom lenses that will work.

Re: Down the Aisle with DSLR?
Michael,
The question seems a little confusing to me. My iphone app says, 5.6 f-stop using 20mm on a t2i with a subject at 10 feet will give you 5 feet in focus in front of the subject and 41 feet...

Re: Questions for the wedding editors
1. As soon as I get home I transfer all the footage to the drive folder for the gig. When I'm ready, I spend a couple of hours culling all the footage. That footage gets transcoded and moved to a...
