Re: using at897/ considering rodes
Never used the AT so can't speak on that but the NTG3 is a beast of a mic. Keep in mind it requires external phantom power. The ntg2 can run on an internal AA for power. If you have a preamp or...

Re: Gopro Hero2 or Replay 1080XD for General Use?
I don't think so. That would be a useful thing for me too as I mount these in aircraft. Some of the locations are a pain to get to and starting several cameras under the pressure of a flight going up...

Interesting thread so I'll post a few thoughts being not only an Apple user for over 25 years, but a Pro Tools, FCP, and Adobe user and a full time pro in the production world.

Re: Should Premiere and After Effects be merged?
Merging would make the Ui too cluttered as there are very different toolsets that would have to be maintained. Generally I work In both apps but with very different mindsets. I also throw Pro Tools...

Re: Alphatron EVF mounts
I have this one for my dp4 and am not very happy with it. There is some flex in it and the mounting holes for the whole piece only match one spot on their cage. There is no L-R rotation adjustment...

Re: Flolight Microbeam 256 user feedback
I can second the 128 melting filters. Kinda ridiculous. Ive got several other LEDs from other manufacturers in all different sizes. None get even close to that hot.

re: Not happy with FS700 ergonomics
Fair enough...and I was just offering another view to what I thought the point of your post was. Most who complain of ergonomics expect ENG-style.
Now, comparing the FS700 to an Alexa is quite a...

Re: Sharpen filter
At least with Canon DSLRs the mkIII is the only one I'd apply sharpening to. All the others alias pretty badly and sharpening any bit just brings that out. I've done a 2% sharpen on my xf300 a few...

re: Not happy with FS700 ergonomics
This is a "cinema style" camera. It is NOT designed as an eng camera. This is clearly meant to have accessories and give the end user a zillion options as to how it's mounted and used. Maybe I've...

Re: Mamfrotto Sympla remote for Canon DSLR
It works very well with both my 7D and 5D mkIII. There are a few quirks but nothing that is a big red flag. Super convenient on my 12' Kessler crane! and I'm trying to figure out how to make my DP4...
