Re: Near Misses

If this guy did this to go viral on YouTube, he failed. He has something like 125 views in a month.

People doing AP professionally are not trying to create viral videos. Chances are even if...

Re: GH4 Wi Fi

How far does the WiFi work now? Is there much delay? What frame rate? Will there be a conflict between the WiFi signal and the 2.4GHz Rx on the RC?

Re: GH4 Lens Adapters

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've only used Canon so I didn't know that the the Micro 4/3 mount was the same on all camera's. I'll do some more research.

I'd like to shoot video with the GH4...

Re: GH4 Lens Adapters

So I'm guessing from the lack of response that an L-Series lens adapter for GH4 is not available yet?

Re: Phantom Vision 2 Plus vs Zen Muse H3 3D

Actually you should consider getting a small MR to practice with even if you have flown before. I have two of them and really enjoy flying them, they're inexpensive, practically indestructible and...

Re: Cloudgate show reel

That's a very good reel. Good music, nice pacing, short with great shots.

Re: Phantom Vision 2 Plus vs Zen Muse H3 3D

It depends on what your goals are. If you want something to produce videos to share with friends on YouTube or an inexpensive trainer then either Phantom will do the trick. If your considering...

Re: First flight w/Phantom 2 (video)

Yes, the real problem with this setup has little to do with the MR and Gimbal and more to do with the camera. Its nearly impossible to intercut footage shot on a GoPro and a DSLR and not be able to...

Hanger flying

I usually spend Saturday mornings shooting pictures with my niece, last Saturday a friend who built an RC Turbine replica of one of the local firefighting helicopters asked if I would shoot him...

Re: Motion Picture Association of America petition

This infuriates me! So the FAA will now be in the business of choosing which of us can make money and those that can't.

IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO USE UAV FOR COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY. So there is no...

Re: DJI F550 flies ABOVE the clouds, then crashes

Jim I fly out of Camarillo and there's an RC field a little over five or six miles away and fairly close to one of the helicopter approaches into the KCMA airspace and I don't know of any incidents...

Re: DJI F550 flies ABOVE the clouds, then crashes

I knew what you meant but unfortunately one of the suggestion has been that for commercial Ap you had to have a pilots license. That's kind of the problem with regulating things, all good intentions...

Re: DJI F550 flies ABOVE the clouds, then crashes

Wait a minute, I resemble that remark, I am a "fool hardy and ignorant and stupid people flying airplanes."

I'm a pilot too, there are a lot of pilots flying MR's. I only fly recreationally now,...

Re: "The New" -- Travel inspiration shot on the island of Dominica

Its getting increasing difficult to get people to critique and suggest ways to improve. On one hand I'd joke that its always better when others people work is being critiqued but that's really not...

Re: "The New" -- Travel inspiration shot on the island of Dominica

The cool thing about this discussion is that I had to go back to see what Noa was talking about and I enjoyed watching it as much as I did the first time.

Nicely done.

Re: DJI F550 flies ABOVE the clouds, then crashes

The judge did not issue a stay, the case was thrown out of court with prejudice, the FAA did not have the right at all to regulate AP from RC's. The FAA threatened to appeal the ruling, which they...

Re: Near Misses

It does look like the operator was the one who batted it away, interestingly it also didn't appear like anyone was injured which also demonstrates that more often than not MR's aren't nearly as...

Re: Drones banned from Yosemite National Park

The park is owned by the tax payers of the US. Its a public park. Legislation by Judge Judy?

Once someone loses control of their RC then they should be held responsible for whatever injury or...

Re: "The New" -- Travel inspiration shot on the island of Dominica

Without knowing exactly the shots your referring to its difficult to say but I'd guess that the softer shots where the GoPro shots. Would be interesting to find out.

Re: Drones banned from Yosemite National Park

Unfortunately I don't think most people see this as an infringement of their civil liberties. When we regulate things under the guise of safety or security that seems to make it OK. Its not. We...
