Wide Angle for x70?

I have read that the 16x9 EXll has very low vignetting and works with other Sony cameras. Has anyne worked with this lens adaptor?

Not nearly in the same price range. I have the Zomie Wide lens 0.45x But looses focus around the 3/4 zoom mark.

Yes Paul Anderegg has. He mentions the EXII adapters in some of his posts. Wide angles for the X70 were widely discussed some time back. You may find some useful info on these postings:

I still use both the Sony VCL-HG0872 zoom thru wide angle and the Canon WD-H72 on the x70 with great results. Mainly the HG0872 as I find the WD-H72 works very well on a Sony 18-105 zoom that I use on E-Mount camera bodies.

Re: Wide Angle for x70?

I like the EXII's for their price, corner performance is acceptable, no really obvious signs of image degradation in the middle and under normal operations, unless you are shooting 4K.

Best adapter I've used was a 0.8x Canon one, which is big and heavy, but has even less corner abberation and blur. Stay away from the 0.75x EXII...they are TWICE as heavy as the 0.8x EXII, and have twice as much edge and corner issues.

Re: Wide Angle for x70?

Thanks for all the excellent posts, and especially the links from Chris Young, which were particularly helpful. It looks like the Canon edges out even the Sony adapter, and will add a bit of anamorphic-type width to the image without compromising it.

Re: Wide Angle for x70?

There should be a post in this forum from a year or two ago with the model numbers. :-)

Re: Wide Angle for x70?

Was looking for something else on the Tube when I came across this. It will give you a pretty good idea of how the Sony VCL-HG0872 works with the X70.
