What exactly are the differences between the Sony V1 E, P & U ? I noticed there is quite a difference in the $ category.

The V1E/P are PAL models; V1U is NTSC. The differences are obvious in DV/DVCAM; in HDV resolution is the same, but framerates differ (50i/25p for PAL and 60i/30p/24p for NTSC).
