Re: Alternative sticks for Sachtler Ace Head

Then, look at the price point. A set of sticks and a head, with "Sachtler" stamped all over, for $500 plus change?

Even a half wit would have to know that, as the opposition isn't in the habit of studding their kit with diamonds or finishing them in gold foil, anyone buying an ACE is buying into a shed load of design and operational compromises, just on the basis of price

Hi Chris,

The "buying into a shed load of design and operational compromises..." needs an answer. We got lots of feedback from Ace user. They are all impressed how much functionallity they get at this price point. We would not have launched a product with design and operational compromises. It is a Sachtler product and people can/will expect a head with high functionality. The Sachtler 75 mm tripods all have the advantage of being very compact and lightweight.

Thanks Barbara. I thought the specs looked the same but wasn't sure if the minimum weight would be the same. I'll take a look at what complete systems you have for the DV10 SB.

Thanks, Barbara! You are a "stand-up" lady. We'll be doing business again.

Boy! Do I know how to shut-down a conversation, or what? I'm beginning to get a complex. : )

Re: Alternative sticks for Sachtler Ace Head

Hi there,

Hope this hasn't already been covered, but I have Manfrotto 535 sticks that I'd like to put a Sachtler Ace L video head on. Do you know if this combination would work? (In terms of fit in the bowl and also tripod legs being able to close properly)?

Thanks.

Re: Alternative sticks for Sachtler Ace Head

I don't have the Ace L, but the 535 legs were a big improvement for my Ace M. They are sturdier, have less kickback on pans, go both higher and lower, etc. Is the L the same as the M only with CF legs? Unless the L has a much larger level adjustment knob than the M (and they look very similar in the photos) it should fit just fine.

Re: Alternative sticks for Sachtler Ace Head

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy only the Ace L head (Canada/US) and not as a kit with the tripod? Can't seem to find a seller. I'd like to pair it with Manfrotto 535 sticks. Thanks.
