K. Forman May 18th, 2006, 10:30 AM Your reply was hilarious, and on the verge of bringing the big dog down on you... again. The post is like several other pathetic attempts by lonely trolls that have been posted there before. And in his case, a cheap troll.
Josh Bass May 18th, 2006, 10:50 AM Oh, it's all harmless fun. It WAS posted in the TV/radio/film section, after all. And the big dog can kid himself, but he knows he wishes he were my dad.
K. Forman May 18th, 2006, 10:54 AM Don't laugh too hard... he might be ;)
Josh Bass May 18th, 2006, 11:02 AM Then who was that bald guy that raised me?

"ideographer wanted

I am posting in several cities. This is not a full time job, but you can look at it as a fun pasttime to make a profit. I do not need to have it edited, or put on DVD. You do not have to be a football lover, but it is definately a plus.
Here is what I am looking for. I need a sports videographer. Specifically, I am looking for someone to tape Texas High School football playoffs for me. Minimum requirements are as follows for all candidates.
1) Must have own videocampera (8mm, digital 8, MiniDVD )tripod (if you do not have one, you can get one at Walmart for about 15 to 20$).
2) Must have reliable transportation to and from High School football stadiums in your area. (Prefer ability to travel within a 2 hr radius, all gas is 100% reimbursible)
3) Must have enough battery juice (3 hrs plus) to cover each game.
I buy these tapes from you at $30 per game tape plus reimbursement for game programs and 1 ticket and parking if applicable (most stadiums do not charge for parking) plus postage and handling. You can make up to $90 (in pocket after expenses, etc..)
If this is acceptable to you please leave your phone number and I will contact you in a couple of months when football season starts up, and I will have you shoot a test run video for us and we will go from there. I will give you a little more information and instructions on how these videos are to be shot at that time. If you do not have enough battery juice to cover the entire game on the test run, no worries, we just need to know that you can follow the instructions and shoot the videos as per our requirements.
Regards: Carlos
This is Texas ONLY, if you read this ad anywhere in Texas you might qualify.
Thanks
Carlos

James Emory May 24th, 2006, 04:44 PM That's a troller if I ever seen one! That was his first post and I bet his last. You know it's bad when Craig's List isn't producing enough suckers anymore. I wonder if the Chicago crew is doing it for free too? I bet not!
Josh Bass May 24th, 2006, 08:15 PM I thought Chris was gonna delete postings like that, from newbies?
Anyway, here's one that's no only ridiculous, but will lead to some very awkward and uncomfortable experiences. Have fun.
On the search for videographers & photographers for homeless doc

There are several things I am looking for all or in part.
1. I am looking to get video footage shot on a mini DV camera of homeless people in your area and surrounding areas that are sleeping on the street in doorways, alleys and parks. And homeless people wondering the streets during all times of the day and night. The video footage can be up to one hour but no more. Also I will need you to film at the highest resolution you can so do not shoot on LP.
2. I am looking to get four interviews with homeless people where you ask them to tell their story and ask them some questions that you come up with. Remember that we are not trying to influence their answers but to get the facts the best we can. No more that one hour total footage for the interviews.
3. High resolution photo's of homeless people during all times of the day and night. Remember after you get the pictures you need to try and get a release from the person. I will need you to keep a log of the pictures you take and for which people you get releases from. You will need to send these to me on a DVD disk.

Josh Bass May 26th, 2006, 11:04 AM You forgot to add "by the way, do you have anything to help me out? i just wanna get a hamburger, and then I'm gonna catch the subway 'cause I got a brother up in Dallas who's got a job at his rubber band factory lined up for me." This funny of course, because there is no subway in Houston.

John M Burkhart June 5th, 2006, 12:52 AM Just not in the US, this is from Craigslist Bangkok:
Looking for NATIVE, Local Thai with excellent English ability and acting experience to host a series of short travel videos.
Payment will be per segment, each will require approximately 2 hours to film, and will be compensated 250 baht/segment.
Must be able to memorize English script, be comfortable in front of a camera.
Pay is low (because the budget is low overall), but will be great exposure (international) and great resume experience.
Please email headshot, resume detailing acting experience, schedule availability, and contact information to reply address above.
Possible future opportunities as well.
By the way, 250 baht is about $6.50 US!
I think this is more insulting than just asking to do it for free...
Robert Martens June 6th, 2006, 07:32 AM Ooh! Ooh! Can I join in? Never thought I'd get to post one of these, but I was just poking around Mandy, thought you'd like this:
----------
Payment is on a lo/no/deferred basis.
Cinematographer wanted for Summer shoot in and around the NYC . Award-winning film-maker / publicity magnet seeks experienced D.P. (who owns lighting, sound and camera package -- preferably the Vericam or Panasonic HDX 200) to shoot ultra-low budget romantic comedy/ road movie in August.
Opportunity of a lifetime to work on future Sundance entry with critically acclaimed writer / star and his partner who has scripts in development with Castle Rock (Tom Hanks), Sony, and too many TV credits and theater credits too long to list here.
I'm offering a great script, talent, creditability and media profile. Payment is low or deferred. I'm self financing from my salary as a Brooklyn math teacher. If you're hungry to work on great material and can afford to work within my budget, let's team up.
SEEKS LOCATION SCOUT / LOCATIONS for new movie shooting around NYC in August. Locations and services must be donated for free - will be awarded on screen thank you and networking opportunities:
LOCATIONS NEEDED: mom & pop pharmacy; motel in deserted area; motel with pool; 2 small town diners; small town flower shop; bowling ally; restaurant; factory security booth where a guard would stay with cars trying to get through; airport hub, airplane interior - can be faked with seats; exterior car mechanic shop along a rural highway; a farm with farm animals; corporate office with cubicle; western like bar with dance floor i.e. Montana; seminar classroom; any scenic areas within close proximity to NYC that look like rural scenic America i.e. it's a cross country road movie and we are trying to cheat shots while we stay in NY, any private long stretches of roads that look like they are from mid-west or western states; any small town streets that look like mid-west with cobble pavement; anything that looks like downtown L.A.; doctors office.
----------
I know, I know, he's a teacher; overworked, underpaid, underappreciated, he deserves our respect. But he's a MATH teacher, shouldn't he understand that anyone with a "Vericam" has bills and a camera to take care of? That "opportunity of a lifetime to work on future Sundance entry" thing is great too, I can't get over that. And such a modest list of locations!

Looking for a student willing to work for food(kinda serious)to shoot 3 commercials and edit. My have use of own equipment. Looking for quick turn around. Excellent opportunity to build resume. This will be the best commercial on TV.
Email for interest and more information
Craig Seeman June 13th, 2006, 01:43 PM They're not even asking for you to bring your own toad. Of course toad experience is preferred over frog experience. Heck, handling toads for TV Commercials might be a profitable career. I'm sure toads are less expensive to own and maintain than HDV cameras. Instead of agonizing over such things as 24p, P2, 2/3" SD vs. 1/3" HDV, mics, light kits, you can buy BOTH a toad and a frog and cover your bases.
Next time you see a listing that expects you to walk into a shoot with $5000-$10,000 worth of gear and pays next to nothing, remind them that you can buy a toad, have one provided for you for a TV Commercial, spend less and make more money doing that.
I think geckos might be profitable too.

Military casting for 100 actors to recreate Afghan town
Actors from Calgary and Edmonton are being hired to help train new recruits in the Canadian Forces.
A casting call has gone out for about 100 actors of Afghan or Middle Eastern descent who will serve as villagers in a mock Afghan town.
The scenario will be set up at CFB Wainwright this fall as new army recruits train before heading to serve in Afghanistan. Wainwright is 200 km southeast of Edmonton.
Rhonda Fisekci, the Calgary-based casting director, says the actors will spend three to four weeks in Wainwright working with the military to create realistic scenarios.
"We're asking the Afghan people to play innocent villagers, religious leaders, policeman, interpreters and tribal leaders so we can create this environment for our recruits to go into [that is] as real as possible," she said.
Troops will learn about Afghan cultural, political and religious beliefs before heading out to the field, she said.
British and American armies use similar scenarios to train their recruits and they have been able to reduce casualties as a result, said Fisekci.
The actors can earn between $150 and $250 a day.
K. Forman July 17th, 2006, 01:31 PM I can just imagine the guy at the corner gas station, as truckloads of these actors pull in to fill up and use the restrooms... INVASION!
Keith Loh July 17th, 2006, 02:05 PM Yea if they issue these extras any prop weapons they should remember to take them away during breaks.
Otherwise ... WOLVERINES!
Brian Wells July 24th, 2006, 04:24 PM xxxxxxx xxxxxx (formerly xxx xxxxxxxx) - an up and coming production and distribution company based in South Florida and Central Missouri - is looking for experienced and “up and coming” video journalists to contribute to its newest show in development called “Coverage.”

Video journalists will file packaged reports after interviewing and reporting on stories (of national interest) in their communities.
Video journalists will mail their fully edited tapes (enterprising ideas encouraged) in MiniDV format to our South Florida office and will participate in a revenue sharing program (2% of the show’s net profit per story filed) if their story makes it to air.
Venture Impact is also accepting demo reels for videographers (with their own equipment) to travel with the show to breaking news events. (Videographers will receive 12% of each show’s net profit for which they participate.) Expected time commitment – 1 day a week.

2% OF THE PROFITS, OKAY THAT'S COOL. BUT, WHERE IS THIS MONEY COMING FROM? SERIOUSLY, WHAT NETWORK WOULD BE INTERESTED IN A SHOW CREATED BY SOME GUY FROM MISSOURI? I MEAN, HONESTLY, WHO IS GOING TO BE INTERESTED IN BUYING THE RIGHTS TO BROADCAST THIS THING? AND, HOW ARE HIS "PROFITS" CALCULATED? ANYONE EVER HEAR OF "HOLLYWOOD ACCOUNTING"? IT'S VERY LIKELY THAT THIS GUY HASN'T. BUT, IF HE HAD, HE WOULD MOST CERTAINLY MISLEAD ALL OF HIS SUPPLIERS BY TWISTING THE VERY DEFINITION OF THE WORD "PROFIT"! PROFIT IS WHAT'S LEFT OVER AFTER HE PAYS HIMSELF AN ENORMOUS SALARY FOR HIS BRILLIANCE IN MASTERMINDING THIS PROJECT! LOL.
Josh Bass July 24th, 2006, 04:28 PM Yeah, they posted that in Houston as well.
