We'll see if Rob takes it, but I need to make a correction. The clip it comes with is the VAMPIRE CLIP... NOT the alligator clip.

I prefer the vampire clip by far and use it most of the time, but it's the only clip that I have an extra of... my other Trams are complete kits and I'm not going to break one of those up. I'd rather include the vampire clip, which is a superior mount anyway 'cause it's far less conspicuous.

Either way, for the mistake... I'll knock another $5 off... so it's $85 with insured shipping.

FS: Birns & Sawyer's "Pansonic DVX100 Tips, Tricks & Basic Operations" DVD

This is the Birns & Sawyer 'Master Series of Filmmaking' instructional video:

"Panasonic DVX-100: Tips, Tricks, & Basic Operations"

Hosted by D.P. Nancy Scrhreiber, ASC, winner of this year's Sundance Film Festival Best Cinematography Award for her work on the independent feature "November" -- starring Courtney Cox and shot entirely on the DVX-100!

This DVD goes over the basic features, functions and menu settings of the 24p miniDV cam, aimed at the beginning user.

I found this very helpful in getting me aquainted with the DVX and all the variations on the menu settings you can play around with, etc. Really helps supplement what's in the manual, so you can see someone making the changes in the settings and explaining what they do, rather than just reading it off a piece of paper. (Warning: this training video was made for the original DVX100, so some of the things the instructors say are not applicable to the new 100(A) model, like when they say you can't boost gain in progressive modes, etc.)

As far as I know, you will not find this DVD cheaper than $50 anywhere. I bought it from B&H a week ago and have only viewed the DVD twice, so the disc and the case are in like new, perfect condition.

Asking $20 ...OBO

PC133 memory trade

I bought a PC133 SDRAM 512 chip but it turns out that despite people telling me my computer could use it, it cannot. I waited too long and can't return it now so I'm either going to sell it on eBay or....

I would like to trade it for a PC100 512 MB SDRAM chip which is a good deal since the PC133 is a faster piece of RAM.

If anyone is interested, email me.

thanks!

Gints Klimanis February 17th, 2004 06:27 PM

Ok. I've used PC133 in my PC100 computer for a few years. That is, until last weekend, when I bought a new computer. If the part doesn't work in your computer, you may have a bad part on your hands.

Gints Klimanis February 17th, 2004 06:28 PM

You mentioned the word 'chip' . Do you really mean chip or a SIMM/DIMM, which is a thin board with several chips on it ?

Adrian Douglas February 17th, 2004 08:34 PM

PC100 and PC133 are compatable and should work in either. PC100 will work in a 133 bus but only run at 100. The bus is backwards compatable down to 66. You can even mix 133/100 without problems, but everything will run at the speed of the slowest component.

As Glints mentioned you may have a bad memory or your system can't handle a single 512MB stick. You may have to use 2x256s.

Hugh DiMauro February 18th, 2004 09:56 AM

$250.

I bought it at a yard sale from a guy who died but had an awesome studio in his basement. I also have an Elmo GS 1200 Stereo Super-8 projector as well. I never tested the camera by actually shooting film and developing it. I did put an old Super-8 cartridge in it and tested the motor which worked fine. The zoom works and all the other features work as well. I just never developed film with it. Make an offer. It's not doing anybody any good sitting around doing nothing.

Regards

Hugh

Tram is sold. Thanks.

Torrey C. Harris February 20th, 2004 07:02 PM

dane hack?

what is that i have old tipb, just wondering if it'll help with fcp on pb

Steve Nunez February 20th, 2004 10:11 PM

Is this the 17" model?

<< The Dane Hack are 2 modified FCP files that replace the standard files that tell FCP that your machine is actually higher spec than it is- and in most instances allow for more RT playback- Apple was/is conservative of their rec specs for RT playback hence the DH allows for many more RT effects to be previewed on slower machines than is usually thought possible >>
