Utility Belt

I'm looking for a good lens belt for my dslr (around the waist, not over the shoulder). Any recommendations on a certain brand and/or product? I need room for two lenses, multiple batteries, and an...

Re: Switching from SD to CF

Why do you say the T3i is better? Just curious. I was thinking focus points, pentaprism, and battery life, but I wouldn't mind sticking with my T3i (with ML) if you think it wouldn't be that much of...

Switching from SD to CF

I'm looking to switch from a Canon T3i to a 7D. This means switching from SD to CF. With SD, I'm used to get media that's at least class 10 for video. Can someone recommend a standard for video while...

Re: How do you handle BAD backlighting??

I had a wedding Saturday in a barn. The bridge and groom were positioned at the end of the barn, right by the open doors to the 80 degrees and sunny weather outside. The bridal party were very close...

Re: Canon 24-70mm 2.8

Ok, that's what I feared. I use a T3i, so it'd be a crop sensor. Thanks for the feedback.

Canon 24-70mm 2.8

I know this forum would be completely jammed if we all posted questions every time we were thinking about buying a new piece of equipment, but I'm really stuck on what lens to upgrade to. Right now I...

"Standard" but sturdy DVD cases?

I've seen threads on the premium DVD cases used such as Loktah and others, but I wondered if anyone could recommend a "standard" black DVD case that holds together well and looks good? The ones I've...

Re: Deliver Entire Wedding DVD Online

Great idea - looks really sharp too. Will you keep each project on your server indefinitely? If so, do you have any concerns about storage space?

Recommendation for way to carry lenses?

Right now for run and gun I typically keep a 50mm on my tripod, a 20mm in a belt-looped case, and a 70-200 in a case that goes over my shoulder. I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to...

Pricing a multi-layered job

I'm working on putting together a quote for a commercial job, and in order to do that I am coming up with some questions that will help me know how to price it. It will be multiple days of shooting,...

Re: Single shooters using glidecam/glidetrack/etc.

Thanks to all for the replies. I guess maybe I need to revisit using my 24" glidetrack on a manfrotto head. I tried a couple times a long time ago, but on one tripod (I usually don't have time to set...

Jarrod and Heather - First Time Using TheMusicBed

Up until this point, I have used instrumental (canned) royalty free music from sites like premiumbeat.com and have been moderately pleased with the results. I'm used to paying $30-$40 for a song, so...

Re: Single shooters using glidecam/glidetrack/etc.

I actually just bought the Manfrotto 561BHDV-1 last week and love it. Only thing I wish it had were a locking mechanism, so that with a small dslr/lens it could stand upright without fear of falling....

Single shooters using glidecam/glidetrack/etc.

I've been filming weddings about 7 years now, and only a couple of those have been with two shooters. So I'm fairly comfortable with filming by myself (hey, no matter how many you shoot, the heart...

Re: Rock Concert - Is there a filter to make the footage shakier?

Just used a trial of the Damage software. Just what I was looking for! I'll probably only use it on the one camera I used a tripod with. But it's perfect. Thank you both again.

Re: Rock Concert - Is there a filter to make the footage shakier?

Thanks to both. Tom, I've got Mercalli v2 but can't figure out how to use it this way (and have tried looking at their website, and looking at the plug-in). Any guidance?

Rock Concert - Is there a filter to make the footage shakier?

It seems like a funny question, but since I primarily film weddings, my focus is usually on making the camera as steady as possible. I recently filmed a 4 camera rock concert with the intent of using...

Re: Photographers hate video: the truth revealed .....

Loved the part about "be nice to them, tell them you're not going to block their shot, and then block, block, block!"

I've been fortunate thus far to never have had an experience quite like the...

I've had Red Giant Looks for some time, but have mainly only found myself using it for outdoor situations. I wondered if those using Looks primarily used certain presets, if you started with a preset...

What order do you edit your footage?

Seems like a funny question, probably. In years past, I have edited together the trailer, then tackled the rest of the footage chronologically. I wanted to go ahead and get their trailer out there...
