Re: Sharing on Facebook - embed from Vimeo, or upload to Facebook?

I don't disagree that its can be annoying, especially when sound is involved, it can easily be turned off as a site function on Facebook by the user. It's just turned on by default.

Re: Sharing on Facebook - embed from Vimeo, or upload to Facebook?

There is also the benefit of the video auto playing when uploaded to Facebook. Easier to grab someone's attention.

Re: Lens changing and focal lengths

That would be nice, but you would lose out on the nice compression that longer lenses give you.

Re: Your Favorite 2015 Wedding Film

Re: Your Favorite 2015 Wedding Film

Sure I'll play. Here's one of my favorites this year. I like that they had a donut truck to at their wedding and the readings during the ceremony were unique.

Re: What lenses are you using throughout the wedding?

Prep I use a rokinon 50mm and the 85 or 135 for some tight shots.

Ceremony: I use 70-200 2.8 and a combo of 85, 135 and 50mm depending on the room setup.

Reception: Ronin has 24mm for...

Re: DJI Osmo for Weddings?

The advantage of the Osmo is definitely ease of use and portability. I doubt it will be as good as an a7s or most cameras we are using, but the ability to easy have it on you at all times is the...

Re: What gives with these lights

My lights are usually set to 3200 not daylight. I didn't explain that well. It matches closely enough to the actual lights in the room and offsets the colored LEDs.

Re: What gives with these lights

For the first dance, cake, speeches and first dance I'll shine a light on them from a light stand. I don't like the look of a light straight on from the camera so I think it gives a better look. ...

Re: Back with another...Talk to me....

Before each big moment (ceremony, entrance, cake cutting/etc.) my second shooter and I will quickly match our white balance. The thing that we miss the most, in regard to white balance, is during...

Re: 25,000$ vs 2,500$ Video - lets get a critique going so I can improve

There is a lot of hate towards the expensive one. Wow.

Re: ND Fader limitations.

I will break the shutter rule. I have ND filters and will use them sometimes, but usually I'll will forgo putting them on and increase the shutter speed. I can definitely see the motion cadence is...

Re: Transcode before edit?

Sometimes I will let FCP X create prores proxies for multiclip sequences, just to make 4k play back a bit smoother.

Re: Any one only offering highlights?

I don't send highlights to the bride and groom first. I usually will tease that it will be online the next day on Facebook, twitter, instagram to try to build some hype. Then I will post it on...

Re: Instamic - the audio Gopro?

I like this idea. Not only for the bride, but would be an easy way to mic those giving toast. Very tempted!

Re: Anyone transcribing speeches, etc?

Interesting idea. Wouldn't be too expensive. I would imagine that, eventually, our NLE will start to have this function built in.

Currently, I don't transcode word for word, but take notes with...

Re: So fed up with DVD

I don't know what you edit with, but if you have the creative cloud with Adobe then you can use Encore. It will do those calculations for you. Even if you have three videos.

Re: Asking more from the couple - Cinematic shots

I like this. It's moody and unique. They don't look uncomfortable to me.

I do also like how you "built a scene". It does play much better than just a random shot of them kissing.

I'm...

Re: 5D users and ND filters - please help!

This doesn't answer your question directly, but I am not opposed to bumping up the shutter speed higher than 50 or 100. I know it messes with the motion cadence, but it doesn't bother me enough to...

Re: My Venue Speeches Recorder Solution - Non Wireless
